In Denver on a visit. Sipped in the brewery tasting room, so it was very fresh.I went 4.00 across the board. This was a good, very flavorful IPA. I was told that the recipe has recently changed, that the IBUs were raised, and that the alcohol volume was lowered. I have never tasted the original, but this was good. It was clear, nice citrus aroma , and tons of hop flavor without being overwhelming. Just a good tasting beer that goes down easy. This is something that could become a regular go-to beer.

one of the better india pale ales going in Denver right now. this pours a pretty cloudy dull brass color with a bold two inches of just off white suds on top. the nose is spicy like rye malt, and incredibly hoppy with bitter grapefruit rind hints and a sweeter tangerine element too. the flavor is great, and huge. there has to be rye malt in this, its got that classic almost peppery flavor and noticeably full body. the hops play off this spice character brilliantly, and while I cant place the varietals, they are fruity and bitter at the same time. there might be some citra or some cascade, the grapefruit profile is big, like grapefruit juice without the acid. the finish is super bitter and bitey, complex and memorable. really lively carbonation keeps it easy drinking even though its rather full bodied from the remaining yeast and the big grain bill. probably my favorite copper kettle brew to date, and perhaps one of the more interesting and well made ipas to come around in awhile. this is really really good.

A: Orange/amber; good clarity. One finger light tan head with good retention to even skim. Laced in thin rings and spots.
S: Grapefruit and pine. Bready pale malt.
T: Bready malt to Lilly resiny flavors consistent with the nose. Even bitter finish for nice balance.
M: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Resiny and dry.
O: easily drinkable. Nice balance. Some malt character.
