For this American Amber Ale, we had our pick of the Aussie hop harvest so it’s all about Galaxy and Ella in this rather special limited edition brew.

Pours amber with a large creamy head.
Nose shows tropical fruit, papaya, lychee and some soft bready malt.
Aggressively bitter flavours, some soft toasty malt before pine and citrus rolls through in a tongue-coating assault.

Bottled, 330 ml, from Molloys. Poured into IPA glass.
Exceptional Irish beer-dark amber in colour, nice medium carbonation, decent head which held in place.
Aroma is awesome, hop forward, caramel, interesting mix of fruits and a hint of spice.
Flavour backs up the aroma/visuals and then some-sweet, caramel, peppery, spice and some citrus there too....exceptional complexity from a great mix of hops.
Deserving winner of bronze in the World Beer Cup-8 Degrees are on fire with Simcoe, Full Irish and Hurricane IPA all hitting a level far beyond the brewery's original offerings.

330ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast
Poured a clear amber orange colour. Creamy head poured tight, thick and foamy then faded to thin covering with thickish edges... light carbonation... light wispy lacing lines barely stick to the glass...
Aroma - Strong flowery and citrusy hop notes, strong caramel and biscuit malts, grassy, nice fruitiness (apples, grapefruits, mango, some pears), floral / perfumed, light toastiness, some honey and nut sweetness, light pepperiness, some faint marzipan hints...
Taste - Nice spicy hop bitterness mixed with good fruitiness (grapefruit, mangoes, pears), lightly toasted caramel maltiness, some burnt / brown sugar notes, nutty sweetness, light medicinal notes, floral / grassy, some creamy hints, sea salt traces, some hazelnut bitterness...
Feel - Smooth and creamy... light / medium bodied... so refreshing and drinkable - i could easily drink this all night...
Overall - A superb beer and certainly one of the best Irish beers around at the minute... highly recommended

On tap at the Irish Craft Beer Festival, 2013.
Oxblood with lots of trailers.
Big pomegranate nose.
Jammy red fruit up front with plenty of red grapefruit hops.
Toasty hit to end and drying linger.
Medium, round, chewy.
Brewed with Galaxy and Ella hops.
A properly hoppy amber. Bigger, fruitier and darker than Windjammer. Great to see some style diversification in the Irish scene and glad to hear this is going into bottles.
