Tried this place out to watch the Rose Bowl, while on a Myrtle Beach vacation
( Liberty Tap Room is right across the street )
They usually have 5 to 7 beers on tap.
The night I went, it was Dale's Pale, Dogfish Head Theobroma, Allegash White, Highland Brown, and another. We had just missed Hercules DIPA.
Bartender was quick to bring us a beer menu; pretty impressive list of bottles separated into style. 12 oz. and bombers.
The big negative is the smoky atmosphere, but the service was fine.
Tough to compete against Liberty, though

What a major disappointment. I come Myrtle Beach every summer, and was so looking forward to this place being great, as our resort is about a mile away. Being featured as a beer hot spot on the Myrtle Beach Craft Beer site had me excited, so my wife and I went for dinner last night, so I thought.
There was a hand written grease board by the entry door listing some beers. Turns out that is out of date and not applicable, an omen of what awaits. Walked in through an attractive little alcover area to the main rom which features a bar on the back and left walls, booths on the right, and some hightop tables in the middle.
We love to sit at the bar, but there were ashtrays, and of course smokers sitting there. You've got to be joking. This is still legal? We move to a booth. The bartender came over and asked what we wanted to drink. Of course, there is no beer list or beer menu, so he realltles off 5-6 drafts (that's it?), then says we also have about 100 bottles. Got a menu? Of course not. He asks what I am looking for. Yikes, you have to be kidding. How can a craft beer bar not have a list or menu? He says, well, I put maybe 15 new types of bottles in the fridge this morning. So? How does that help the customer?
Did I mention that it's the South, and it's the summer, and it's also hot and muggy in here? Yeah, pile that onto the very poor organization, the smoke, and what do you get? Yeah, one DFH 90 Minute and the check. See ya latah, and good luck surviving in this mode of smoke, heat, and no menu... Such a shame.

8/14/2011. Another update (sigh.) Shae is no longer in the kitchen (in fact, no one is in the kitchen; not currently serving food).
6/26/2011. Updating the score for food. Last night was my first visit since Shae Dannemiller came on board as executive chef. I attended the Wetten Improters Beer Dinner. I was really looking forward to the event, and was not disappointed. Truly an exceptional meal.
Original review (April 2011): I met johntangus and beeryebeerye here for a few beers a few weeks ago, and made a return trip a couple of days later. I plan to make several more stops over the summer. There are 7 taps of craft beer, with regional and national selections. On my last stop, I had Bell's Oberon and Westbrook White Thai. There are over 100 bottle options in a wide range of styles. I sampled a couple of appetizers and enjoyed them, and the rest of the menu looked good as well. The new chef (Shae, formerly of the Landmark) has already had a couple of beer dinners that have had great reviews; hopefully I'll have a chance to get to one of these sometime when I'm in town. The bar itself has two levels. The lower level has several tables and booths, while the upper is a little more open and has a small deck. They have live music many nights as well. Definitely worth a stop if you are vacationing nearby.
