Clear pale golden colour with a small white head. Poor head retention.
Light, sickly sweet lychee aroma with a characteristic Matso's malt aroma.
Pale and insipid flavour. Slightly sweet. Sort of reminiscent of lychee. Not as good as the Mango Beer which clearly tastes of mango.
Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Fine.
An okay beer. It is drinkable but the way the lychee comes across is disappointing.

330ml bottle. BB 03/04/2015. Pale straw colour. Frothy head which quickly disappeared. Minimal lacing. Aroma of lychees (funnily enough), perfume and musk sticks. Weird sweet and sour taste, not overpowering, but not very enjoyable either. Not for me.

Pours a hazed golden hue with a wispy one finger head and a rim of lacing, the smell is very tart indeed with hints of strong lychee, berries and wheat, the mouthfeel is thin bodied with moderate carbonation and the taste starts off tart and finishes sweet and its pretty much all about the lychee with some berry flavours aswell and yeah it be nice a hot day but not something you want too much of cheers.

Bottle: good 330mL brown bottle, stylish label. A very nice package indeed.
Appearance: pours out an ever-so-slightly hazy light golden yellow, with plenty of fine carbonation across the profile. A half-finger white head hangs about for a time with sporadic lacing.
Aroma: boy, you can definitely tell where they were aiming with this one - some bread malts and light floral hops with a pleasant and natural lychee-citrus aroma dominating. Refreshing.
Taste: again the lovely lycheee flavour comes through very strong, with those malts and hops backing up. The lychee is sweet without being saccharin, with an almost mandarin-peel tartness metering out the sweet. Fantastic!
Aftertaste: some sweetness remains, with more of the tartness and hop bitterness shining through.
Mouth feel: fairly light in body with a great carbonation that carries the flavour well. Gives it a good punch, but still quite smooth.
Overall: I really can't get a read of Matso's. Some of their beers are pretty awful, and then there are some like this. Lovely, refreshing and well worth the AU$72 a case of 24 x 330mL case (2014). A great citrus-based beer - I'll definitely have this one again.
