This brew is a hazy dark yellow with some activity. It certainly looks the part of a pils, seemingly unfiltered with a well maintained off-white head. The island of foam sustained for the duration gives back lace in a ring at the top that's very thick, with patching and sporadic ringing for the continuation.
The nose doesn't exactly pour out, but this beer seems to fit. It's mainly floral with some grains showing, though refined and without any of the "unclean" aspects, so to speak. It's smooth particularly in the flavor. There are some sweeter notes seemingly from the impartation of a fruitiness in the yeast, and some malts on the dry side offer a touch of cracker. There's a good balance, as advertised, between hops and malts; for a German, though, it could use a little more bitterness and a general increase in the strength (not heaviness) particularly of aroma and, to a point, of flavor.
The body is light with a crisp, not-quite-effervescent froth on the palate. It's clean and has the brightness a pils should have.

Cloudy light amber with very little carbonation. Poured with hardly a head that quickly disappeared. Really not much to look at. Poor marks for that. But it did get better. Slight floral hop smell with a little more hop in taste. Easily drinkable with good finish. Tasted better than it looked. Not great. But certainly good.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down but left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of grassy hops are present in the nose along with some hints of spicy hops.
T: Like the smell, the taste has flavors of grassy and spicy hops along with hints of bready malts.
M: It feels a little shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This pilsener has nice grassy and spicy aromas and flavors. It is a good representation of the style.

Served in a tumbler.

...An even whiter Portlandia...? Anyway, this stuff pours a partly hazy brass topped by a finger or so of white foam. The nose comprises light white bread, clean grass, stiff flowers, and a touch of pine needle. The taste brings in more of the same, the bread now much more biscuit-y and the grass and flowers mixing with some already-mixed greens, providing a hefty amount of hoppy goodness without becoming overpowering. This is the kind of intense balance most brewers just can't seem to figure out. The body is a lithe medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a smooth feel. Overall, a pretty enjoyable pils, something I look forward to during my future Chi-Town excursions.

A - hazy, bright golden color with half finger white fluffy head
S - aromatic hops, alike a sessional APA
T - hoppier than your average pilsner. Medium-light bitterness with a crisp finish.
M - thinner body, lower carbonation, finishes tart and clean, while being semi-dry
O - A refreshing pilsner with a mild hop taste and aroma.

Nothing too exciting. Not what i look for in a pilsner.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. It has an oily, but slightly murky, honey yellow hue to it with a very thin, light, white head that has spotty retention and just a touch of lace. The aroma is a sweet, sugary citrus with some honey notes, pie crust, and just a touch of grass and roast. The taste is a moderate sweet that dominates the front end of the profile, with a moderate bitter finish. The body is syrupy slick, but not too heavy (medium body), with a fuzzy carbonation. The flavor profile is doughy with grapefruit, mango, and honey sweetness. The citrus turns more bitter at the finish with a mineral water quality and a light spice. The aftertaste is brief, but a noticeable bitter, waxy citrus

It's nice to have a really big pilsener once in a while. This one fit the bill OK.

It pours a little boring - yellow, not much fizz. The aroma is also weaker than the better ones. The taste is a very sweet, pungent and weirdly grassy and fresh. The hops are somewhat out of place - the wrong ones, maybe. Drinking it pretty warm, it works.

You can tell it is somewhat thicker and maltier than normal, and generally all the falvors hide the booze up front, though there is a good amount of alcohol in the aftertaste.

If you're looking for a true pilsner, this beer isn't it. When I had it the first time a year or so ago, I said WTF. I tried it again w/ an open mind/palette and immediately thought Oktoberfest/Great Lakes Dortmunder. It's damn good, but it's no pils.

p.s. It's a "SUPER" pils

Very pale and lightly hazy, an aroma of sweet malt and just a hint of vegetal character. Grainy flavor, some lightly herbal hops, medium light body and a dry finish. More of an imperial pale euro lager than imperial Pilsner, like just about everything else about this brewery, this makes no sense to me. I'm honestly baffled by how positive many of the reviews are.
