My sixth from this local brewery in as many months, so I'm getting to know them. I much like their other offerings, Magnifica Wheat is worth attention... and probably twice.
L- Wit-like
S-subdued by wheat prominence, but it has barley in there. Half of the Smell is the nose... so it gets better.
T- refreshing from the citrus hops. (Interesting. But, less hops for my palate would let the wheat and yeast work.)
F-soft, from the wheat and I'm told, the oats. But soft is not always full. And in this case, it is not full.
OA- I'd like to see this with a more hefe-like yeast and kick up some banana-clove flavors.
But even without sticking closer to the old country's style, I would try again Magnifica Wheat next summer.
6/18/17 I did try it the next summer and this is an ale to return to in its season. Refreshing.

a real unique wheat beer here. its almost like a baby belgian tripel. obviously way less alcohol to it, but a really fluffy feel that might suggest some oats, as well as a weird residual sweetness like it has some belgian candy sugar in it, just like a tripel really. there is also something going on with the yeast here, not belgian per se, but fruity and fermented warm and pretty flavorful with the grain too. its got a ton of texture to it, a ton of body, a ton of bubbles, and a little more sugar than i like leftover, but i appreciate the unique take on the style. i though i was getting a random pint of american wheat, but this is anything but generic and samey, and i like it for that. i should have known better from these guys, always pushing the envelope. probably the most filling pint of beer i have ever had under 5% alcohol, it sits heavy for me in the gut. not one i need to rush out and have again right away, but i am pleased to have tried this unique brew. i need some more information on this one, whats going on here?
