Visited briefly on a Friday afternoon with my mom and brother. I only had one beer (pilsner), and wasn't terribly impressed (not bad, though). We ordered a chocolate lava cake for my mom (she loved it and scarfed it down). And, interestingly, they had a delicious sounding topping on a burger -- panko-crusted fried peppers. We asked if they could sell us just a side of those peppers on their own, and they did, which was unexpectedly cool.
Server was friendly and nice, didn't really engage with her about beer but she BSed with us a bit.
I'd be more interested in going back to try more of their food than to try more of their beer, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Local neighborhood bar atmosphere from the 70's & 80's but with slower service. They have Sierra Blanca beers on tap but nothing of their own here now.

This place has been open for a year and a half. I can't believe someone from the East coast is writing the first review.
Located in a small shopping mall, ABQ Brewpub is right next door to Uptown Sports Bar. I didn't go into Uptown, but I would imagine that place is more for the sports fanatic who doesn't care whar he/she drinks, and ABQ is for the more discriminating beer drinker.
Typically southwestern on the outside, with a patio that has a half dozen tables or so. Large U-shaped bar with TVs over the bar. Wood walls, some sheetrock painted red. High ceiling. Prints on the walls, barrels arranged over the seating area. Tables and high tops in the rather small seating area. A wall of mugs against the wall. Large variety of mugs, which turned out to be for the mug club members. Sounds like a good deal to be a member. $20 per year gets you 22oz pours and a free growler. One minor gripe: the bar has chill discs to keep your beer cold. Ugh.
There were 11 Sierra Blanca beers on tap and 3 ABQ brewpub beers on tap. I had a couple SB 420 IPAs and enjoyed them. Sampled the SB chile beer, which was better than I thought it would be, and also sampled the ABQ Black IPA. I'm not a big Black IPA fan, but this was a pleasant surprise. Smooth, not so much of the piney hops.
I didn't try any of the food.
Our server was good.
I hope to get back to this place during my visit to Albuquerque.
