This IPA pours a carmely, reddish tinted color, and had a nice 2 fingers of foam. The foam disspiated fairly quickly leaving a very pleasant amount of lacing, that told the tale of the beer on the glass as I drank. The scent was hoppy, citrusy, light and inviting. From the get go, it seemed a very playful IPA, with Ganesha on the tap handle, to it's jauntiness of aroma, artfully followed through with the taste.
You definately get that upfront hops bitterness, and intensity of an IPA with this one, but what I like is how smooth the body and finish were. It was like walking through a sandstorm of hops, to cleanse ones palette in the river ganges by the finish. It is very well balanced, very smooth, and a very tame IPA. I'm a fan of some pretty intense ones, and this Lost Coast version holds its own against the big boys. Ganesha could only be pleased he was on the tap; as would I.
