poured into a pint glass, got 2 fingers of foamy white head, poured a very clear amber/orange color with nice amount of visible carbonation - resinous lacing left behind by the head.
smells of hops leaked out as soon as i popped the bottle open. very piney/citrusy, you can smell the spicy bitterness! a hint of burnt caramel.
the taste is up front bitterness followed by a nice sweet malty backbone and a surprising bready finish! this beer has it all! spicy, earthy, caramel, toasted bread. a really weird combination which works perfectly together.
light to medium body, very little creamy feel, mild carbonation, leaves a nice sticky moustache from the lacing!
overall this is a really nicely done ipa. not too much of a hop bomb on the actual palate as much as it is on the nose, which is great! a little weak on th emouthfeel, but the taste/smell combo made up for it.
