22 oz bomber poured into a pint glass.
Cloudy orange color with a 2-finger offwhite head. A fair amount of lace. On my second pour I get a glassfull of big, chunky suspended particles, despite having read the previous review and pouring carefully. Nowhere on the bottle does it say that this is bottle conditioned, so for most people this is going to be unavoidable.
Smell is primarily burnt caramel malt with a spiciness that hints at the hops but the hops are rather subdued for an IPA. This smells more like a pale ale than an IPA. It doesn't smell bad, it's just weak for the style.
A lot more hops in the taste than in the smell. Surpisingly, the malt is weaker than you'd expect in the taste and the hops almost completely take over. A very long hop finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy.
This beer is strange to me in the way it tastes completely different than it smells. I do like this though. And actually, the yeasty chunky stuff that comes out on the second pour mellowed it out a bit and added another dimension to it.
