look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75
Appearance: mahogany brown with red highlights, good clarity, almost no head retention
Aroma: very sweet, very molassesy, a thick sugary smell, a little dark fruit, slight spicy kick to it, some chocolate notes
Taste: thick and sweet, molasses prevailing, a good helping of chocolate, a little spiciness, sweet finish
Mouthfeel: thick and viscous, full body, medium low carbonation
Overall: Great full body and very thick, sweet finish. A prevailing molasses flavor (and texture!). Some spiciness on the finish as a little chocolate but a very overall thick and sweet beer.

A: Pours a crystal clear dark reddish amber brown in color with minimal amounts of active visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and some ruby red highlights. The beer has a half finger tall sudsy foamy beige head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted and roasted malts with some lighter aromas of chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of roasted and toasted malts with a light amount of sweetness. There are moderate flavors of cocoa and chocolate with just a hint of vanilla. Light to moderate amounts of bitterness are present but do not linger for too long.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly creamy with a touch of alcohol warming in the finish.
O: A nice example of a brown ale with some really nice winter flavors. I enjoyed this one and would definitely consider grabbing it again. Overall the alcohol is well hidden and the beer is relatively easy to drink.

A: Ruby red tinted brown with a mocha head.
S: Citrus hops and a touch of nutty malt in a faint nose.
T: Cinnamon, cardamom, nutty malt, nutmeg, blended really well together. A touch of alcohol.
M: Medium bodied and a little alcohol astringency. Moderate levels of carbonation.
O: Definitely one of the better brown ales I've had, which is saying absolutely nothing, so I'll put it this way: It's a great beer, nice and wintery, and the nutty malt serves as a nice backbone for the wintery style. Recommended.
