Served in a snifter at Ale Arsenal.

A: Pale, lightly hazy, and with decent head.

S: HUGE tangerine. Unmistakeable and enjoyable.

T/M: Grainy, citrus, but somehow artificial. Lots of tangerine, almost like candy. Some good carbonation, lightly dry end taste.

O: Must try if you like tangerine. Otherwise, would not recommended.

Pours a pale straw, somewhat golden color with little tiny bits of white sediment floating around in the beer - is this supposed to simulate pulp?! Tiny bit of haze in the middle, but decent clarity for the most part, especially for a wheat beer. The big white head froths up fast but tames itself quickly and reduces to nothing more than a ring within a minute. The nose smells like Tang. Orange Tang. To be more precise, artificial orange drink. Not orange juice, but orange "drink". It has that kind of dry, powdery smell to it. And the taste pretty much follows right along with that. A slightly tart and tangy snap of orange and tangerine; however, it's not as natural tasting as I'd hoped - kind of artificial and chalky on the palate. It seems a bit diluted, too, like some of the flavor had gone missing somewhere. The wheat flavor is abound, but it engulfed, for the most part, by the tangerine flavors. It kind of has a weird, medicinal, chewing vitamin-like aftertaste. Thin body, high carbonation.

This seems like it would be better paired for a hot summer day by the pool or just after finishing up the yard work on a 90 degree day. It could be good, but unfortunately the tangerine flavor is a bit too artificial in character.

screw the haters on this one, this beer kicks ass. whether you like fruit beers or not, you have to respect this one. so much flavor! the pour is a relatively standard looking pale wheat color with a lacey but thin white head. the nose is epic, so much tangerine, right from the tree. its acidic and sweet, tangy and robust, its juicy and alive, all at once. its fantastic, and it crowds out any heavy vibes from the wheat malt in both taste and smell. all those aromas carry through to the flavor, which is equally orangey and refreshing. there is no other brew out there this heavy on the tangerine citrus element. its uncanny really. more than enough carbonation, made a little heavy from the left over yeast, but to me this is inconsequential, as the tangerine notes make this beer as light as can be. a perfect spring break lounge chair sipper, winter transformer, or everyday slammer. i absolutely adored this beer, and im sorry to see it rated so low. i think its a rare thing in the beer world to encounter a brew with so much fruit character that isnt sweet or fake. this is really lovely, dont let the ratings throw you off.

12 oz bottle courtesy of cosmo4u pours a hazed gold color with a modest white head. It does display some nice retention and a few spots of lace.

Nose is quite pleasant...tangerine galore with a decent wheat tang and a little drop of honey sweetness.

Taste throws out some competing flavors....I dont like how the malty sweetness plays against the sharp, obvious tangerine citrus. It lacks flow and the pithy character comes out too much. I dont like the syrupy wheat/malt flavors and think this would come across better with a lighter malt and an uplifting bubbly carbonation. The mouthfeel is a little flat and a touch cloying. I am a sucker for fruit beers, so I will finish this 12 oz sample, but I definitely wont look for this one again.

Hazy amber, with sediment visible, although the bottle was dated over a year ago, so that's taken into consideration. Limited suds, no lace.

Nose proves to be soapy. I get dish soap, to be exact. Would make for a fetching hand-wash, but not beer.

Tastes similar to the aroma, like slightly carbonated soap, with a hint of wheat and citrus at the finish. Definitely not impressive.

For starters, because the beer comes in a conditioned bottle, its imperative that this beer is not drank from the bottle and poured correctly. My wife poured one of these beers incorrectly leaving all the yeast and sedimet in the bottle and her beer looked and tasted(bad) completly different than mine. On to the review:

Appearance-The beer pours clear with a dark blond color and some carbonation at first and then turns into a cloudy deep orange color with the final swirl from the conditiioned bottle. It takes a few minutes for the beer to settle and develope it's unfiltered characteristics. The head is a fluffy bright white color and looks like it may die down toward the end. The deep orange color is appealing but I expected a thicker head from a wheat.

Smell-It smells like orange juice...plan and simple. The orange smell is impressive and inviteing but I would like something in there to tell me its beer and I didnt get it.

Taste- The beer tast just like it smells. The orange is dominant but but there is a slit bitterness at the end (the very end) and some light carbonation that lets you know that its beer.

Mouthfeel- The feel is very thin and the beer goes down like water. I typically dont drink beer very fast but this may be the easiest drinking beer I have had and the glass was empty in just a few pulls. It drinks much like an american mega brewed lager without the graininess. I expected a much heavier feel for an unfiltered wheat and thought this was the beers weakest charicteristic.

Overall- If you searching for hopps and malts you will be disapointed in this brew. However, evaluating the beer for what it is (fruit beer) I think it hit its mark quite well. This beer is well crafted and is defiinatley an above average fruit beer. The beer needed a thicker head with more lacing on the glass and lacked complexity to be considered a nop notch beer. This beer would be an excellant picnic beer or hot wheater beer. It would also be an excellant entry level beer for someone new to craft beer. Overall I enjoyed the beer. It is definatley interesting and worth checking out.

Was looking forward to trying this beer at a relatively new bar nearby my house. At first I enjoyed the aroma - it has a very strong tangerine smell to it. The first few sips were ok, but the more I drank through my pint, the more and more it started to taste like Tang. The Tangerine is way too strong in this beer without any other flavors to complement it. It honestly didn't taste like a wheat beer, let alone a beer at all. Unfortunately it was a disappointment.

Arrives a cloudy dark orange-amber color with a decently retained white head.
Smell is notes of malt and tangerine, strong and delicious like orange soda. That's it. Not great balance.
Taste is tangerine, malt, hops, a woody/pithy/almost medicinal note.
Fizzy like club soda with a feel similar to it as well. Fairly clean finish though dry and bitter. A decent beer overall but needs a better, less bitter, finish. And some wheat notes would be good, too.

This beer actually looks pretty nice, like a well crafted IPA, and almost smells like one too, but a little tangerine like in smell. It almost smells like oranges and cream, weird.

But this beer, to me, is hardly palatable. It is thin, watery, and sweet/ dry from the tangerine. It tastes like a yucky soda.

12oz bottle from CJ's Potsdam NY for 2$

Appearance – Hazy amber colour with an average size fizzy off-white coloured head. There is a high amount of carbonation and there is some faint lacing. The head lasted for around 3-4 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Grains/wheat, tangerines/oranges.. like a can of orange crush soda

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an average amount of carbonation. I can taste grains/bread mixed with oranges/tangerines and some yeasty notes. It ends with a somewhat dry citrus zest and yeasty aftertaste.

Overall – It reminded me too much of a orange soda to really be a beer. I can't say I've ever had a beer that tasted quite like this one, so that made it worthwhile to try. I won't be buying this again.

[Best served in a Weizen glass]

The pour was a cloudy medium golden amber with a huge (3-4 finger) white fizzy head that diminished rapidly, leaving behind a thin film which did create some fair spotty lacing.

The aroma was all about the tangerine with a slight scent of a grain malt and a sweaty yeast.

The taste was sweet and fruity throughout with a nice wheat presence towards the end. The flavor lasted an average time following the swallow with a sweet citrus taste left to linger.

Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a very mild carbonation.

Overall a very fruity tasting brew with a thin watery feel, would be great when you feel overheated and want to chug a few...

12oz bottle
Served in a conical pint glass

A - It is amber with golden highlights. Yeast is suspended throughout. I got about an inch of off white head.

S - Tangerine is well represented.

T - It tastes as advertised, tangerine and wheat. This is one beer that tastes exactly as you would expect it to taste.

M - Moderate

O - It reminds me of Blue Moon with an orange slice, but without that cardboard taste that Blue Moon seems to have.

First had: on tap at POPE, Philly, PA

I was actually in the mood for a wheat beer this particular day. Served in a ribbed tumbler, a hazy, burnt sienna color with a wispy white head; no real retention or lacing to speak of. Obvious whole tangerine peel in the nose, with a zesty wheat profile. Delivers what it promises in the taste, bready wheat malts, tangerine and more tangerine, from the pulp to the peel, mild pithy bitterness in the finish. Light-medium body, a bit chewy, and moderately refreshing. No surprises here. Not too bad overall.

New beer on tap at bdubs. A good way to stay cool on this 102 degree day!

Appearance - cloudy, muddy orange. Good hold to the thin finger of creamy foam.

Aroma - bright and tangeriny. Some wheat influence softens things. Good resilience too.

Taste - a smooth, almost milky orange, like an Orange Julius beer. Solid fruit flavor without sugary sweetness. Even a touch of rind tartness.

Mouthfeel - very smooth and easy sailing. Full body for a wheat but still refreshing.

Drinkability - goes down way too easy.

I didn't know what to expect with this "beer" before purchasing..

Poured from the bottle the beer appears a hazy orange-ish with a microscopic white head. The nose is a potent orange soda slap in the face with a hint of beer...brings me back to my Keenan and Kel days. Unfortunately, it tastes exactly like orange soda as well...god awful beer with no redeeming qualities. The artificial orange candy flavor and extreme effervescence is way too overpowering to say that the slight bitterness on the back end brings balance to the beverage. Although I can't detect an ABV at all making it quite drinkable...for a mixed drink. I will never drink this "beer" again.

12oz bottle into wheat glass.

A - Slightly hazy yellow copper with a large frothy white head.

S - Smells like tangerine sweet tarts. Maybe some mango and lemon as well.

T - Tastes nothing like the aroma. There is a medicinal tangerine citrus flavor that is weak and tends to linger throughout. A stale bready characteristic is evident. No hops or bitterness present. Very unpleasant overall.

M - Light and watery. Average carbonation.

O - Not a very good beer. Reminded me of a weak tangerine cough syrup. It was hard to finish the bottle, but I did it. Never again.

Appearance - Pours a bright yellowish-orange color (similar to orange juice) with a VERY thin head that dissipates instantly. Not much to say for lacing either.

Smell - All I can really smell is the tangerine, it overpowers everything else that is there. Still smells delicious though.

Taste - Besides the dominant tangerine flavor and zest.. it's very bready and malty. Sweet and tangy with a little bit of coriander in the background. Can't forget the wheat lol.. It all blends together very well.

Mouthfeel - Light-medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Overall - I love this beer. It's nice to try something different.. After about 10 minutes the foam and lacing was completely gone, but I can't say it had a negative effect on the flavor. You probably shouldn't to drink this beer if you have acid reflux, it's quite acidic. I'm finding this out afterward.. lol

What a great, refreshing smell!! Clean, citrus, fresh, orange.

A dark, not bright, yellow color with a thin white foam that all but disappears in the glass.
The flavor is a strong clear orange/tangerine.

Light on the palate with a lingering aftertaste. This may have merely been psychological, but I couldn't get the thought of a cleaning solvent out of my head.

I wanted to like the beer. I love the smell. I love orange in my alcohol. I just couldn't get past it.

A guest review from my wife of one of her favorite fruit beers.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into an Ayinger pilsner glass. Pours a peachy amber color, cloudy and fairly fizzy with a thin skim of head.

In your face tangerine aroma; clementines, tangerine rind, honey and hints of malt combine for a very pleasant smell. Think Orange Crush, but not as sweet.

Taste is much milder than aroma. Tangerine is still prominent, with a mild bready flavor, with the maltiness quickly fading for a quiet finish.

Has a thinish mouthfeel, somewhat soft and refereshing due to the citrusy zing. The tang is felt more than tasted, likely due to the carbonation.

The strong tangerine flavor combined with this brew is how a wheat beer should be; forget adding the orange to Blue Moon, this is the beer you want!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into an Avery pint glass.

A - hazy honey orange, big white head that recedes quickly leaving a thin layer.

S - Sweet tangerine orange, little hint of malts

T - At first I wasn't that impressed, but after a few tastes felt like this was a fairly balanced, some tangerine, nice malts, actually tasted a bit of hops.

M - Medium bodied medium carbonation

O - Okay brew, the tangerine taste seems a bit forced, is a refreshing finish

12 ounce bottle served cold in glass pint

A) Rusted orange haze; lacy white head settles quickly.

S) Rush of citrus fruit. Sweet, mild ginger spice, sour dough

T) Sweet and malty, Hops are barely present

M) Refreshing bubbly spiked tangerine fizz, similar in texture to orange soda. Smooth and drinkable

O) Lives up to its name -- tangerine beer.

I bought this one on a whim to try a wheat beer that was mixed with an orange taste. I was personally trying to get something that was like Shock Top, but better in taste.

This one is definitely that. Its a bit sweeter than what I was expecting, but the orange is complimented by the wheat very well. Its kinda light, almost no bitterness, and goes down smooth to the last drop.

I don't know if I'd buy this with food, cause it does ride the palate a fair bit, but its definitely a good kind of "kick back and knock one down" kind of drink.

Pours a hazy orange with a 1/2 inch orange-white head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace drip back into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is a mix of tangerines and oranges with some slight grain aromas. Taste is of intense tangerine up front (fruit and zest) with a wheat aftertaste. This beer has a pretty good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good fruit beer that delivers much more than I was expecting it to.
