Bottle brought back from Florida thanks to my girlfriend, 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Poured a translucent reddish brown, with two fingers of offwhite head. Sticky head that leaves sheets of lace. Nose is interesting, but leaves me concerned of a bottle that's past its prime. Some interesting caramel, with odd chocolate notes. I can't seem to get a notion of mint chocolate caramel wafers out of my mind at this point. Horrendous for the style, but intriguing nonetheless. No hop character to speak of. Taste starts off with a boatload of caramel which dominates throughout, but suspicions of a dated bottle are confirmed I'd say (no bottling date to ensure this however). This chocolate flavour appears again, a very mild bitterness and a slight hint of citrus. Minimal hop character otherwise. Has some moderate weight in the mouth, but doesn't do much for me as an amber. Interesting on its own, but far from the style at this point. Curious nonetheless.

poured from 12oz bottle into standard pint glass. Bottled 2/1/14, so 3 months and change.

Pint looks slightly hazy amber color with a small creamy off white head. good carbonation and lacing.

Aroma is faintly of cut grass malt with an even fainter suggestion of hops

Taste shows a pretty decent balance, though leaning more toward the malt side. A pleasant biting bitterness around the tongue

Mouth is medium and a bit foamy.

Overall a decent enough beer, actually got more enjoyable toward the end. Nothing to really brag about, label's prettty cool though.
