650ml bottle into goblet, 5.8% abv. a code is printed on the neck of the bottle but in black ink, so, with this beer being a stout, i could only really see it after pouring some of the contents out. the code reads "07/08/14-4" so hopefully that's the bottling date. enjoyed at home on the afternoon of october 2, 2014

a: pitch black with just over a finger of latte-hued head. ruby/cola tinges around the bottom of the glass

s: coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. slight caramel as well as earthy hints. a bit subdued but still quite nice

t: chocolate and roasted malt up front, with a slight but tasty dark fruit presence mid-palate. dries out with a cocoa-like bitterness along with notes of coffee, earth and wood

m: excellent mouthfeel. medium-ish body, slightly sticky, with mild carbonation

o: a delicious stout with a great roasty character. wouldn't mind picking up a few more of these from the LCBO. i'm glad they bring this beer in

12 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass at Caddyshanks in Orlando.

Appearance: A one finger mocha head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Sweet and bready oats, toasted, roasted, chocolate, a little smoke, and some earthy notes.

Taste: You pick up molasses noted in the taste in top of everything else with some slight bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, little to medium bodied, a little bitterness, and medium carbonation.

Overall: Pretty solid oatmeal stout. Surprised to see it here in Orlando, but happy to have found it.

Not a bad brew, there's a slight burnt smell upon first sniff, but it's not off putting. It goes down well, and is very sessionable. Overall, it's an A-.
