Poured into a pint glass

Appearance - Dark clear brown/red with a filmy head with no carbonation. That's pretty much it.

Smell - Chocolate, Cocoa, Coffee, Roasted Barley and Malts. Fairly sweet smelling and quite nice.

Taste - Chocolate, Cocoa, and Roasted Barley. Simple flavor but good.

Mouthfeel - Light and crisp. Carbonation is light so it's easy to drink.

Overall - Simple tasting brown ale but it's still good.

Tasted from a 12 oz bottle.

A - Appears a medium to dark brown in the glass, deep copper/orange when held up to the light. Perfectly clear. Beige head is thick, creamy and long-lasting. Huge curtains of lace. Very attractive beer.

S - Nutty malt aromas, with some crystal malt and even a bit of chocolate and roasted grain. It all smells clean and subtle. No hops or yeast evident in nose.

T - Flavors of grassy hops mix with the malts from the nose. Not as much malt as expected from the aromas. Light chocolate and roast. No yeast character.

M - Thin body. Smooth carbonation. A smooth and oily mouthfeel makes me wonder if there are oats in the grain bill. Significant hops bitterness, but no alcohol burn.

O - This is a clean, well-made, enjoyable brown ale with an American rather than English tilt. Not exceptional, but good.

Pours cola brown with a 1 inch white head that settles to a thick cap and ring on top that leaves thick strands of lace.

Smell is of hazelnut up front with faint chocolate, caramel and molasses on the finish. Very pleasant.

Taste is of big hazelnut sweetness, molasses, roasted malt and brown sugar up front with faint chocolate on the back end.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.

A solid malty brown ale with pleasant coffee, hazelnut, chocolate and brown sugar accents.

Pours a dark brown color with ruby edges and a finger of beige head. The head dissipates fairly quickly but leaves some nice lacing behind. The nose is slightly bready. The body is relatively hearty. The flavor is bready with a faint touch of maple. The finish is semi-dry.
