Neat pub in a neat old building in a neat old neighborhood on the edge of Eureka’s historic and picturesque, albeit hippie and hobo infested downtown. The atmosphere is part old British pub, part new California pub, and 100% freaky voodoo gypsy “I’m a paper mache artist with way too much time and LSD on my hands.” Staff are very friendly and seem to enjoy the product they serve. The food was decent but not great. I had a Navaho Chicken Sandwich. Had the fried bread been fried a touch more it would have been great. The beer sampler came with 12 beers. I really enjoyed the IIPA and was floored by their tangerine ale. It was straight up pure tangerine nectar. Very unique and delicious. The other fruit beers including Raspberry and Apricot ales were quite good as well but the Raspberry Brown was medicinal like cough syrup and pretty disgusting. The rest of the ales were all pleasing, mostly well hopped, clean, and refreshing. They were out of stout so I did not get to try that. Followed up the sampler with a pint of IIPA. Prices were very good for the quality and quantity. Overall impression is that lost coast is a fun place with some decent brews but nothing too extraordinary…yet. I do see potential.

Visited here many years ago when the brewpub was down town. Long before the micro brew industry reached eastward. Loved the place.

The brewery and cafe is in an old, three story Victorian era store, so there’s a vibe that your sidling up to a bar in the 1890s which is pretty cool. The menu is pretty good, but expect little more than pub food. The place is WAY too loud with a full house and sometimes the service borders on rude.

Stopped in for dinner and a couple drinks to kick off a spring break road trip from CA up the Oregon coast. Been wanting to swing by for years, but somehow never have. It's pretty much exactly what I expected, in a good way. Feels exactly like a small town brewery that's been doing it right for years. Very laid back and comfortable. Staff was super friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. Food was outstanding! No complaints from me about the beer selection. They've got a pretty fair array of established standards, but also some newer stuff. They generally lean heavier on fruited beers and hoppy beers, but also have some lighter and darker options. Wasn't necessarily blown away by any particular beer, but they were all solid. I'll definitely stop by again the next time I find myself in the area.

We left our home town due to the Carr wild fire in northern California. Decided to go to the coast and stay a couple days. Had lunch at the Lost Coast Brewery and Cafe. Had a great "Hot Brown" sandwich and Down town brown to match. Great pairing and great food! Service was also above average.

Neat place in that it caters to families with two pinball machines and a large hanging spider at the front door that goes up and down as the door opens and closes! Cool stop! A BIG miss is the ketchup..... They don't serve Heinz!

Stopped by while in the area for work. Seems like a fun place, but the beers are kind of generic. Also seemed a little run down and tired. Their fruit beers seem to be the best offerings and the staff was nice. Food was standard pub fare, and priced reasonably.

Brewery/tap room is usually packed. Has some tv's, bar and table seating. Average food but great if your in the mood for something simple. Good beer. Usually their usuals on tap and a couple taproom only like the apricot wheat. Usually pretty noisy. Overall a chill place.

Busy at lunchtime and still got a good table. Great burger. Wife loved the clam chowder. The chocolate porter was very good. Lots of locals eating and drinking. Friendly vibe.

Visited 3 breweries rated in this order: Mad River, Eel River & Lost Coast.
All good. Lost Coast mostly a university / young crowd. Order the roast oysters with pesto! (with garlic is over kill). Their beers a bit watery and uninspired, but liked the IPA well enough to buy a well priced 6. Our waitress was great. Pretty typical restaurant rather than a tasting room.

They seem to have forgotten what craft beer is about they make very mediocre one note beer. The beer industry has moved forward into a cornucopia of flavors and lost coast is doing exactly the same thing that they have been doing for the last 25 years . On the rare occasion that they try something new it is a horrible half assed effort. It seems that they are a victim of their own success kind of like they are not willing to take any chances and just want to play it safe . But that's just my opinion and it doesn't mean much to anyone but me

This is a very good, enjoyable brewpub in downtown Eureka. It's in an old brick building with some nice old details, including apparently cast-iron columns, etc., outside and in,with nice big windows looking onto the street. The staff are friendly and efficient. The place can get loud and crowded but has a good feel to it.

Their beer overall is very good but not outstanding. The range at any given time is somewhat limited but has their standards on tap plus a few rotating/seasonal ones.

Food is also very good, but not outstanding - good burgers, good steak sandwich, fish and chips, etc. Clam chowder is very good.
