Kind of historic building with pub and local paraphenalia all around. There are two entrances, one in the front and one back by the parking lot (pay - I think). There is at least one pool table and a loft area.

Most of the tap nozzles were brass and at least one was stainless steal. The kitchen was not really in the open but one could walk by and see the happenings. The wood tables, chairs, and brass plated bar with wood siding gave the establishment some character.

Service was friendly, knowledgable (at least tried), and prompt.

Good selection of their own beers and I did not see a cask option. Most of their beers had a similar taste, a few were possible notables, and a definite notable was the 8 Ball Stout (hence the pool tables).

The food was good.

reasonable

This is a very good, enjoyable brewpub in downtown Eureka. It's in an old brick building with some nice old details, including apparently cast-iron columns, etc., outside and in,with nice big windows looking onto the street. The staff are friendly and efficient. The place can get loud and crowded but has a good feel to it.

Their beer overall is very good but not outstanding. The range at any given time is somewhat limited but has their standards on tap plus a few rotating/seasonal ones.

Food is also very good, but not outstanding - good burgers, good steak sandwich, fish and chips, etc. Clam chowder is very good.

This was stop #8 for my wife and I on a 21-day pub-crawl from Michigan to N. CA and OR. We stopped here for dinner and to try their beers. It was a Friday evening and the brewery was busy, but we were seated right away. The brewery is situated on the first floor and a mezzanine area of a 3-story, nicely restored, stand-alone building on the fringe of the downtown area. The interior is also nicely restored, and is a cool place to enjoy a meal and a beer.

We ordered a sampler flight of the 10 beers that were available. Each was brewed very close to style, and none of them exhibited any flaws. However, none of them were very exciting other than the Tangerine Wheat, which was something that we had never experienced before and we liked it a lot because of its uniqueness. The food menu was fairly standard pub fare, but it was very good, and it outshined the beers.

There are other breweries in town that we’d try first before coming back here for the beer, but if none of those breweries offer food, then we’d come back here again without hesitation.

Staff is quite knowledgeable and loves to play along with a serious beer drinker/taster. Atmosphere is very casual, more locals than tourists during my visit. Food selection was above average and for such a remote spot the prices were very reasonable.

Beer selection requires several visits to do justice. Overall a pretty outstanding selection of styles, plus they are happy to serve 2 oz shooters for tasting. Conveniently located right of Hiway 101 in the middle of town . . . will definitely return.

I recommend this beer to anyone from Canada travelling down the coast. This a good, refreshing beer. It is the perfect balance of a craft beer and simplicity. One could easily drink this daily if they so choose. Great job Lost Coast Brewery...you have gained a fan!
