Almost a drain pour but not interesting enough for that. Clear pale yellow, no head, no lacing. Bland taste, maybe a bit lemony. Maybe. I suppose on an August day here in this part of Texas, ice cold, this might be good. Maybe.

i can see the potential here i suppose, but my beer was a little older and has held up less well than i would like a lager like this to do. its weirdly yeast for what it is, and overly corny, is this an adjunct beer? i taste that sweet starchy corn more than anything else, and like some of its sugar was cooked a little too long, it has a caramelized property not quite right for its paler color. head is good and clarity is fine, some oxidation has creeped in here, so i worry about the date, which i dont see here, but even with that factored out, it would still be missing a little something. maybe its hops, this is malt driven but somewhat strange with this corn profile, out of balance, and the lager yeast has a stale and dusty taste to it. carbonation is fine though, and this can definitely refresh when cold. it doesnt warm up real well, so drink quickly. i like when smaller breweries take stabs at lagers like this, no two are ever the same, and while i dont love this one, i respect it for being true to itself. corn lager, if you like them, give this a shot.

There's an interesting sharpness, almost like sourness, at the outset of this beer. It's citrusy like lime. Beyond that it's just a basic sweetish golden malt. Apparently it's made with corn but I don't find that. It's balanced, crisp, and easy to drink.

Sweet, Grainy, Corn, Citrus
Twisted X lager is a brilliant pale golden color with a fluffy two-fingered head. Soft cereal grains in the nose give way to a first sip that is grainy with a dominant sweet corn flavor. Light on the palate, but smooth and creamy. Then the hops come to play with some herbal and slightly juicy citrus rind notes. Dry and crackery in the finish. Overall, this is a very clean and crushable beer. If I lived in Texas I'd be flipping my macro beer-drinking friends onto this newcomer.

Pours a clear light golden color with white head. Cereal grains on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Not much on the finish. Bland at best. Surely not premium.

12 oz. can poured into pilsener
L: sparkling, crystal clear gold, beautiful lager look; ultra white head of foam, not very tall on a relatively light pour, maybe 1/4- to 1/3-inch tall; a little sticking off the head, keeps a tight, perfect collar of white foam but not much lacing; the activity in the column is impressive with a fantastic river of bubbles flying up to form a steady half-skin
S: loads of corn, grain, sweet grain, sour grain -- the combination offers a bit of white wine aroma, a little sour grape in there
T: grain bomb ... lots of corn flavor with some sweetness; a slight medicinal flavor disturbs some of the good grain flavor; has just a hair of the house paint flavor most good AALs have -- it's hard to describe, but it's driven by yeast
F: wonderful ... full but light for a good crisp feel
O: there's not much wrong with this one, and it's probably the best adjunct lager I've tried; about the only detractor is the bit of medicinality in the taste, but there's so much good grain flavor
