Appearance: Golden orange body presents a bit of haze, and is crowned by a coarse, rather large cloud top head with very good retention. Profuse columns of small bubbles drift lazily to the surface. Scattered chunks of lacing adorn the glass wall.
Aroma: Grassy and spicy hops vie with toasted malt, presenting a pleasing aroma. There are also lesser notes of caramel.
Taste: Opens with toasted malt, and spicy and grassy hops. The latter prevail throughout the taste. Nonetheless, the toasted malt offers a sturdy framework upon which the taste is built. Later in the taste, hints of caramel appear. In all the blend of flavors is remarkably complex and pleasing. Finishes with a mild wave of grass, spice, and trailing herbal bitterness.
Mouth feel: Smooth and soft, very full, with mellow carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: This is a very well-made example of a scarce and underappreciated style. Well worth a try.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a San Adams Boston Lager sensory glass.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. A dark Amber color with a thick foamy head and nice lacing. A sweet grassy smell. The taste is also sweet, with biscuit and malt. Overall a nice Vienna lager.

Twisted X Brewing Co. "Cow Creek"
on tap at the brewery 6 November 2015
Nice appearance. Clear copper body beneath a short head of white. Decent enough head retention and lacing, although it could be better. Grainy, lightly toasty malt in the nose but no distinct hops. At 5.4% ABV and 26 IBUs it's on the numbers for the style, and given the sweet, toasty Vienna malt profile they've pretty much nailed it although a little more hops might help give it a little more life. Clean and well-balanced. Nicely done.

Not distinguished, but well-executed Vienna lager. Hop presence skews a little bitter, and pours a thick and frothy head with clumpy lacing. Decent overall - though maybe a little punchy for a session ale.
