12oz can poured into pint glass. Thanks to SSW117 for this one.

A- Pours a perfectly translucent clear yellowish golden with a little under a finger of head that dissipates very fast, nice carbonation. Not much in terms of lacing.

S- Lightly sweet pale malts with a slight floral smell, slightly above average carbonation.

T- Very lightly sweet pale malts with a light presence of wheat and grains.

M- Medium bodied, slightly oily, easy to drink, refreshing.

O- This was a decent pale ale that was nice to drink. There wasn't anything that really stood out in it, but it was overall enjoyable. I'm glad I got to try it, thanks again Sam for sending it!

12oz can into an Old Engine Oil snifter. Thanks to vonschplieffen for sharing this random ass tick.

A: Clear pale amber body with a frothy, short-lived white head. Not much lace. Average.

S: Pretty boring, with nothing much beyond husky malt, yeasty minerality, and herbal hops. Ok, but not interesting in the least.

T: Follows the nose: rather lagery, malty, and cleanly hoppy on the finish. Refreshing.

M: Light and lively. Pretty good.

O: This tasted nothing like an English Pale Mild Ale, but whatever. It was drinkable and inoffensive.

Cheers!

Thanks to kevin123 for this can...

A: Pours a pale translucent yellow with about a half finger pure white head that settles quickly. There is a think rocky ring left along the edges of the glass.

S: This beer is pretty basic. Light, and crisp with scents of pale malt. There is a thin citrus note, but you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it.

T: It's a pretty standard Pale Mild Ale. Earthy grains, slight grass, slight dirt, and mild hops. There is nothing in the taste that really makes this beer standout.

M: Light bodied beer. It's hit the palate and moves off quickly. It's smooth all the way around without any lingering notes.

O: This beer is pretty average. The flavors are ok, the mouthfeel is ok, it's just ok. I didn't hate it, and I didn't love it. This would be a great alternative to BMC if you wanted a substitute.

12 oz. can tried 5 Nov 2011. Courtesy of R&A, thanks! Served in the Austin Beerworks wheat glass.

Large yellow tinged foamy head. Moderately carbonated. Clear bright golden yellow. Aroma is light sweet grains, lemon, mineral, very pleasant. Flavor is quite similar, sweetly malty, touch of mineral and lemon. Medium to light body, light ethanol. Becomes kind of lemon pithy towards the finish. Mineral aftertaste.

I could see finishing quite a few of these in the summertime. Which should be starting in about three days...

Can to Pint
12oz

No canning date

Thanks to lnashsig for this one.

App- A medium colored yellow that was pretty see through. A nice white 1/2 finger capped head was present and left quickly. A nice bit of cling left in the glass.

Smell- Wasn't too offensive but was pretty average. It had a little mix of pils, AAL and blonde ale with some earthy notes.

Taste- It was very mild but wasnt overly offensive. Right down the middle. A sublte mix of the three aromatics I mentioned with a earthy grassy type of flavor.

Mouth- Light medium bodied with a high carbonation level. Left a bit of malty grassy notes after.

Drink- I wanted this one for the style tick. I wouldnt have searched it out in the meantime. I can say that on a sweltering hot Texas or CA summer day this would work wonders.

The only thing I tasted was peanut butter and it was not pleasant. Instead of an exta pale ale , it reminded me more of a cheap beer such as Pearl, Dixie or Lone Star.
Austin Beerworks needs to reconfigure this ale or just get rid of it all together.
