By far, Yeastern Homebrew Supply is the best home brew shop in New England. The store consists of two floors stocked with beer and wine products. As you walk into the store, you will quickly realize how extensive the product selection is. Gabe took the time to educate me on the process and to provide me with tips on improving. Its quite clear that Gabe has a passion for home brewing. Gabe's knowledge is quite extensive.

He is always cheerful and ready to answer all of my questions. I have brewed over 15 batches of beer within the last 12 months using his ingredients, products, and helpful tips. His prices are equivalence to the large online retailers once you factor in the shipping costs. I encourage anyone and everyone to visit Yeastern Homebrew Supply. This is truly the best homebrew supply store in the Northeast.

I was in NH for the weekend on 2/23/13 and decided to check out Yeastern Homebrew. I have made about 10 brews using extract kits and was looking to make the leap into all grain brewing and had started collecting some equipment. I enjoyed browsing the store and after discussing my proposed brewing setup, they helped me pick out some kettles, fittings, tubing, a carboy and a immersion chiller. Very helpful without any pushy sales approach! I would definitely recommend Yeastern.

Homebrewing in the Seacoast area of NH often required me to source my materials from the online giants (e.g. Northern Brewer, Midwest, MoreBeer, etc.). Online shopping, while nice because of expansive inventories, comes at a cost: shipping rates. And, unfortunately, shipping takes a sizable chunk out of my meager brewing budget. So, it's finally nice to have a place like Yeastern Homebrew Supply (YHS) right down the street from me in Dover, NH. What once was a small, underground shop with a modest selection has now grown into two floors of homebrewing and winemaking supplies and ingredients. The owner is an experienced homebrewer, an active member of the Concord Area Homebrewers Club, and a passionate advocate for the hobby. The grain and hops selection at YHS is impressively immense. The liquid yeast cultures (i.e. Wyeast) carry a slightly high price tag, but that's only because they're sold fresh and rigorously maintained at proper storage temperatures. In fact, I've never had the misfortune of purchasing a DOA culture from Yeastern. In addition to fresh, high quality ingredients, Yeastern boasts a large inventory of hardware, including high-end Blichmann products, kegging/gas supplies and various fermentation related doohickeys to satiate even the most discerning gadgetophilic zymurgists. I highly encourage both beginner and experienced homebrewers in the area to visit Yeastern Homebrew Supply. You won't be disappointed!

I'm a homebrewing novice and went to Yeastern with some questions after brewing my first batch. The owner was extremely helpful and did a great job fielding all my questions. I haven't been to a lot of homebrew stores so I can't really say much about the selection. Also, the prices seemed reasonable and were comparable to the place I got all my equipment in Syracuse, NY.
But like I said above the service was great and the owner was really knowledgeable and helpful. I'll definitely be heading back there for any of my homebrew needs.

Selection is really not their fault- who can blame them for not having any possible item you may want, seeing how a lot of the stuff has shelf life, but nevertheless as with any homebrew shop, unless they get tons of traffic, they can't possibly have a 5.0 selection. It would be difficult, ok?

The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful, not pushy, not trying to upsell- more concerned with giving accurate info/know how, rather than make tons of bucks off me. Will certainly return and recommend this to anyone.

This place is a little hard to find, located in downtown Dover below a thrift store. There are posters for the store in the thrift store windows, but you still have to know what you are looking for. Once you get down there, the staff/owners are very friendly and helpful. They have a decent array of equipment, ingredients, and literature. They also have the equipment and such for wine making, as well. Plenty of stuff to get you started there, and they are willing to order just about anything for you, also. Prices seem very competitive from other homebrew stores I have been to. Having recently moved to the area, I have a strong feeling I will be spending quite a bit more time down there.
