330ml bottle. ½ Pint glass. Enjoyed on jul´12 (Following Valentin´s –from Freiburg- suggestion).Deep orange in color. Foggy appearance. Yellowish off-white, small sized bubbled, froth. Good retention. Remaining thin layer on top. Toasted malt & slightly hoppy aromas. Bread & toffee notes to the nose with resin & citric hues. Gentle mildy toasted malt upfront is broken by sharp bitterness with orange hues. Mouthfeel is flooded by sweet malts but, once again, active hoppiness in the middle lingers into the dry bitter finish. Medium to light body. Moderate carbonation. Oily texture. Orange & subtle resins on the aftertaste. ABV is well masked. Easy & refreshing drinkability.

330 ml bottle into pint glass, best before 9/2016. Pours moderately hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of stremaing carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemon zest, pineapple, caramel, toasted bread, light toffee, herbal, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with balanced citrus/grassy hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, pineapple, lemon zest, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, light toffee, herbal, floral, grass, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel/rind, pineapple, pine, caramel, toasted bread, floral, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of big citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good American IPA style. All around good balance and complexity of big citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Ruby-tinged amber with thin sandy foam that clings, speckles and rings. 4
Nutty, resiny nose with a surprising flash of cocoa powder. 3.5
Lots of caramel with some Seville orange and a hint of chocolate then sap and bright tangerine hops. Earthy grapefruit comes out as it warms. 4
Clementine rind finish and long bitter linger. Medium, sticky, chewy, round. 4

Typically of Euro craft, there's a hefty malt backbone here.
Less typically, this has some properly fresh C hop citrus.
Not swampy where it could be, a nice looker, the chocolate malt adds a twist and very Italian smoothness to the body.
Not Re Ale, but among the better Italian IPAs.

Tastes like double crooked tree with a side of Italy!

Intense red, light veil. Eggshell colored foam, quite compact.
In the smell american hp, pleasant and well balanced by the maltiness. Hop in evidence, but not overwhelming.
In the mouth it is a bit more heavy, for the strong maltiness. The bitterness, present, but not enough to completely balance the sweetness of the malt. A bit less balanced.
Caramel in the aftertaste, for starting, then some piney hop, with some grapefruit hint.

A. Poured an clear amber, with a two finger white frothy head, Some lacing on the glass.

S. Barley, corn, cereal. More malt than hops.

T. Sweet malty up front, maple sweetness, some earthy tones and a decent amount of hops. Not as much hops as I like for an Ipa, but decent nonetheless.

M. Medium bodied light carbonation, decent duration.

O. A decent brew. The brew was a little too sweet and bnot bitter enough for the style.
