Pours an amber colour with slow bead through the clear body. Large, webbed bubbly head, cream colour, retaining OK. Looks alright.
Smells quite hoppy. Apple and citrus notes with a touch of passionfruit. Mostly NZ-seeming hop bill that could use a bit more malt balance, just gives tang and very little else.
Taste is fairly sweet upfront but thins out towards the back. Caramel notes that gets quite resinous hop bitterness towards the back, oily to the point of giving cocoa hints. Actually a little thin malt-wise overall, some more balance would be good.
Body is a little thin, but not too bad.
Decent drop but a bit resinous to me on the palate. Smelled fresher/better but ultimately the beer is a bit deficient in malt, and I'd like more of that.
