I have been waiting to pop open this bottle that i got as an EXTRA! from sukwonee, cheers man!

A - This could be the most beautiful beer I have ever seen! Beautiful golden haze that almost seems to emanate light. Big billowing head rises high and settles to a thick ring that is here for the long haul

S - Barnyard, great funk profile, bananas, green apple, cloves, big phenol, aspirin, great yeasty notes. There's more but I want to get this review done so I can keep drinking it

T - The balance of flavors that is going on is totally remarkable. Brett, pear, sour tang and slight aspiriny bitterness, yeasty and bready sweetness. Awesome!

M - Light bodied and smooth as hell

This beer has a 95, but not even that could prepare me for it. So fucking good. Cant wait to savor the rest of the bottle!

Poured from a 375ml bottle

Ap - Clear, brilliant gold. Very lively pour. It wasn't a gusher like a lot of people have stated in the past. The head is thick and stays around at about 1/8th inch the whole way down. It's also very sticky and leaves great lace.

Ar - Simple, yet complex. Horse blanket, dust, tropical fruits, chalky even.

T - similar to the nose in that it's simple and yet complex. The Brett is really noticeable, with an apricot-ish middle followed by a lingering dry, chalky aftertaste.

M - The carbonation is perfect. The mouthfeel is creamy yet lively. This is one of those beers everyone should try at least once. THIS is how Brett saison's should taste.

Bottle courtesy of Ed. Thank you for the opportunity!

Gushzilla....lost a nice fifth of the bottle...like amateur hour at the Apollo over here. Just sat like a dumbass for a good few second while the bottle fourth of July'd itself round my kitchen. Once settled, pours a nice clouded yellow with a tight cap and solid lacing.

Smells of chalky, funky tropical fruits.

Lots of tropical fruits on the taste a well. Heavy sweetness clogs up the middle while this finish is a light peppery yeast and some tempered funk.

Palate is way too sickly sweet and thick. Heavy on the tongue this just doesn't pop or drop like I'd prefer.

Eh, some nice components and the funk and fruits are pleasant but the mouthfeel here is way off. Actually it becomes cloying the deeper into the bottle.

Happy to try but won't rush out for this again.

Bottle No. 44879
Best by: 06/2018

Deep gold capped with a tall off-white head that quickly settles to a low, lumpy covering. Big time flower and wood funk in the nose. Dusty cellar, hay, berries, earth, light citrus, and a general spicy sharpness. Taste goes in a more fruity-funk direction starting off tart with a building sweetness being cutoff by a nice acidity and dry finish. Definitely more of a tart, juicy Brett character with this Saison. Flower petals, white wine, and peach pits...not as old and funky-feeling as the smell. Crisp and dry which helps conceal the strength. One of the more interesting Saisons I've had, I think.

Initially large creamy peach colored head made of tight foam bubbles over golden orange beer. Aroma pours in loads of fruit, wild floral, tart funky, and sunny dandelions. Really fun to smell.... Berries, apples, mango, colorful flowers, sweet orange, spice and pleasant but unusual tropical stink. Taste passes through an array of experiences. Miscellaneous fleshy fruits, dry, smacky, tart, citrus rind-like bitter, flowery and farmy. Carbonation is very fine and evenly disbursed. Juicy, bubbly, slick texture with an easy drinking medium body. Goes down very smooth even with the tart bitterness. There's enough fruit and sunny flowers to balance all that out.
