One of my couple favorite beers and my favorite saison there is.

A - wonderful. Copper-gold cloudy color, billowy huge (slightly) off-white head that sticks around for a while.

S - wonderful again. It smells effervescent and summery - spritzy somewhat tart lemon, peach, hay, barnyard, a very slight touch of spicy hop. Immediately on opening a tiny hint of banana yeast, but it's gone quickly.

T - pretty much perfect. Lemony tartness but not overwhelming or dominant. The excellent summer, saison notes of grass, hay, flowers - a field. Slight spiciness to balance it out. Initially a bit of honey, pear-like sweet malt, but it finishes perfectly dry. Extremely refreshing but also complex as you could want. What an export strength saison should be, and what brett should contribute - an accent that blends in with the excellent base beer.

M - nicely dry finish, a little prickly carbonation but could be juuust a bit moreso. Again excellent.

Overall, an amazing beer. As a saison lover, this would have to be my favorite saison. Hits the notes from classic Belgian examples but adds the wonderfully fruity, tart brett accent. Well worth seeking out. Honestly don't understand why this isn't massively sought-after.

750 ml poured into a SN tulip.

A: Medium carbonation and very clear. Pale yellow with a thin slight off white head that looks like it will lace nicely.

S: A very spicy, earthy nose with slight boozie sweetness. Very spicy hops in the aroma dominate.

T: Ok, this is where things got interesting. Huge Brett character that mingle very well with the nose but strangely different. Nice fruit from the yeast with balanced yeast spice. Booze does some through in the taste but definitely not hot at all. Nice hop bite as well. The nose creeps up on the taste after taking a sip. Lingering sweetness remains and eventually it does start to get a little warm from the 8 % abv. Its not that high of an abv hut must have fermented hot to get the yeast fruitiness to where its at.

M: Yeast spice and hop spice mingle and definitely make themselves present between sips. Alcohol does bring some warmth but only after a bit. Not something I would like to drink on a hot summer day, unlike Fantome Saison.

O: A decent example of a Brett inoculated saison but the alcohol bite and huge hop spice is a little too much. I actually have a non-Brett home brewed saison at this abv and made with huge amounts of EKG hops and I have a similar problem. In fact, it tastes almost identical minus the Brett tropical fruit flavors. Glad I tried it tho.

Pours a shade somewhere between light-gold and deep-straw; musky, cloudy, and almost completely opaque, topped off with a volatile, lively white head that sits for a few minutes before fizzling into nothing. Apple skins and white grapes jut out into my nostrils as I bring the glass closer to my face, accompanied by a mild, underlying tartness. Some partial barnyard and funk aromas hang in the back; corky and musky, but remain somewhat secondary to the sour fruits. Not quite acidic, but sharp enough to tell you that this beer is probably going to be sour.

The taste, surprisingly enough, contains much more funk and much less sour than the aroma was leading me to believe. Some mild apple and pear skins (and possibly some other light fruits) enter with a very mild tartness and a soft sweetness which fades quickly as the Brett flavors get launched from a canon, right to the forefront of the flavor profile. Midway through, the funk hits hard; dirty barnyard, wet wood, old cork, and must. As the Brett flavors run their course, a bitterness starts to crescendo softly in the background and leads right into the aftertaste. Some very light fruity flavors are left on the palate after the beer is gone, also with a slight bitterness and a bit of that ol' funk. Medium-ish body with very lively carbonation leaves a crisp mouth feel and a pretty dry finish.

They take their Brett seriously over at Logsdon - this baby was no joke. Aroma had me thinking it would be mostly tart and a little funky, but it was just the opposite. Certainly not a bad thing, though. The flavors work well together and the funk is controlled pretty well - it just has to be what you're looking for. Can't wait to try the Peche n' Brett.

Fruity and funky nose

Funk, fruit, spice....simply yummy...savoring each sip

Smooth, complex, flavorful, paired with some mild blue cheese and celery, this was truly a delight

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
A: Gushed all over the counter, Lots of foam that lasted for several minutes. But its a nice cloudy orange color.
S: Like Brett, some minor pear notes, sourness with a bunch of farmhouse zest.
T: Like combining a Saison and a sour into one bottle and shaking them with a drop of pear juice. Quite good.
O: Great, really cool interesting brew.

Bottle shared with a friend, poured into two snifters.

A: Murky orange color. Massive foamy/creamy head. Amazing lacing.
S: Sour and peppery notes. Apples, pears, pepper, some funkiness. Tons of brett earthiness.
T: Yeast pepper (spiciness), lemon, pears. Some tartness but very nice, not overpowering. Some bready flavors to balance things out.
M: Carbonation is good, a bit prickly with a nice dry finish.
O: This beer is amazing, reminded me of HF E.
