Notes/Commercial Description:
Our organic Oak Aged Bretta is made with our Seizoen Bretta that is aged for a period of time to develop the wood aged character in the beer. Oak Tannins, vanilla notes and subtle smoky spiciness soften and mellow this beer over time.

The aged unfiltered beer is refermented and carbonated in the bottle with select yeast strains to provide added dryness and complexity, then sealed with beeswax for additional aging. Store bottles upright in a cool dark place and enjoy for many years in a proper glass.

Bottle poured into a Hill Farmstead stem.

Pour: A deep, bright orange, with a super fluffy and sticky two finger white head. Leaves quite a bit of lacing, and the head hung around for a decent amount of time. Some carbonation sticks to the glass.

Smell: Really nice burst of tropical fruits up front. Some lemon and mango. A nice brett funk comes in, along with hints of oaky vanilla. Some white pepper.

Taste: Wow. Takes the nose up a notch, with a distinct mango note throughout. Some lemon pith provides a clean tartness. A bretty funk and some white pepper. Great barrel character, and the finish mixes the mangos and an oaky vanilla.

Mouthfeel: Pretty juicy, yet juggles the tropical fruits of the taste with a very nice dryness on the finish. Exceptionally drinkable.

Overall: This was fantastic. As good or better than the Juicy enjoyed before this, and nearly as good as Flora b4. Well done Logsdon.

Pour is copper toned amber, hazy, with an off white thick head. Nose is stingy brett, lemon and leather dominate with notes of citrus. Taste has some malt notes, lighter body and nicely carbonated. Oak is again faint if present, strong Brett and a touch of sweet malt. Strong leather and a fair bit of lemon with a lighter citrus note. Biting finish, semi dry, a bit sweet of malt.

hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of tart lemon, biscuit, bread, nice cracker with hints of spice, yeast, nice grassy notes with a touch of tart and funky basement. Taste is a mix of tart, funky notes, hints of grass, bread, hints of lemon, oak and slight vanilla, touch of earth, finishing bitter, dry, slight tart fruit.

I have been on the fence about when the right time to open this bottle was. Today was the day.

Color was a little more brown than I expected from being a saison, but the bone-white head really contrasted nicely.

Aroma just explodes out of my wine glass. Prominent notes of pear, faint pineapple and oranges meld nicely with the funk from the Brett and time spent in the barrel. Perfect representation of a barrel-aged saison.

Flavor is next to perfect. Immediately it jumps right to the crisp carbonation and 'airy' mouthfeel. It could have been a little funkier, but I have no doubt that if I had sat on this for another year, it would have been just right. Dry characteristics of pear and apple skin, but with just enough sweetness from all the fruit notes that it was quite balanced.

I took this bottle to the face in no time. It's drinkability was that high.
