Notes/Commercial Description:
Our organic Oak Aged Bretta is made with our Seizoen Bretta that is aged for a period of time to develop the wood aged character in the beer. Oak Tannins, vanilla notes and subtle smoky spiciness soften and mellow this beer over time.

The aged unfiltered beer is refermented and carbonated in the bottle with select yeast strains to provide added dryness and complexity, then sealed with beeswax for additional aging. Store bottles upright in a cool dark place and enjoy for many years in a proper glass.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, but consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Aromas of sour brett are present in the nose; the funkiness from the brett becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste is a little sour from the brett but has interesting contrasting notes of oak and vanilla from the barrel aging.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The oak barrel aging adds a lot to the complexity of this beer, lending interesting flavors of oak and vanilla to the sour flavors of brett.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into cervoise. Bottle number 10190. Best by 07-2019.
A: Opens...and immediately starts coming out the top of the bottle. Pours a very hazy yellow-orange with huge frothy white head (3-4 inches+) that slowly recedes. Decent lacing. A tad aggressive on the carbonation. (4)
S: Soft honey, fresh melon, citrus (sweet orange and tart lemon), white pepper, vanilla, and almond cream. Quite nice and refreshing. (4.5)
T: An oaky vanilla hits first--very chardonnay-like--followed by tart brett, bright citrus, white pepper spice with hints of honey and lemon custard. I like the impact the oak aging had on this one. (4.25)
M: Light-medium body. Bright and refreshing throughout. Tart (brett) and sweet (fruit and honey) with a solidifying oak quality (makes it feel a bit heavier). Subtle carbonation prickles. Mildly dry finish. Lovely lingering and maturing on the palate. One of the highlights of an already solid beer. (4.5)
D: A delicate yet deep brew. Refreshing with nice complexity. Logsdon does an excellent job with saisons! (4.5)
