Quick review from notes taken at a friend’s house when we had this.
Poured from a refrigerated bottle into tulip. Pours a hazy golden color forming a very high, thick airy foam which leaves a patchy lacing as you drink it. Aromas are predominantly fruity (pear) and grains (wheat/barley). You also pick up malt, citrus (tangerine), and Belgian yeast. The taste is quite sharp on the yeast, and flows towards exposing some of the fruity and malty notes in its aroma. The finish is oaky, slightly bitter and there’s a very light burn you feel from its alcohol.

Mouthfeel is crisp and sharp, with moderate carbonation – it’s an easy drinking brew.

Overall this is an enjoyable beer – it is an interesting mix between a farmhouse and a strong ale as it definitely has characteristics of both. Its light on the palate, yet it does a good job bringing out the different flavors in the beer. I liked it and I would buy it again. (933 characters)

This is an exceptional farmhouse ale, organic to boot. I had it from the bottle, pours a light yellow haze. A little spice on the nose and quite fizzed with a mellow, refreshing finish. A very, very good saison. Go get it. Hoot hoot! (233 characters)

on-tap, pine box

1st release from Dave Porter, one of the "other" brewers at Logsdon. News to me.

Super dry, grassy, crisp carbonation, lemon, lots of wheat. Interesting, and probably not given a fair shake given it was the beer I ordered while I waited for Peche n Brett to be tapped. Hard to imagine purchasing over Seizon Bretta though (340 characters)

Quick review from written notes.

Pale gold color, lasting foam coverage on the surface, overcharged carbonation.

Farmhouse yeast aroma, light fruity yeast esters.

Tart and bitter taste, earthy phenolics, these flavors clash on the palate. Light honey is malt in the aftertaste. Crisp feel, though a bit overcarbed. Overall this wasn't as good as other Logsdon beers, wasn't very cohesive in terms of flavor and body. (480 characters)

Pressing backspace just when you're about to finish up your review really ticks me off... Bottle from letspourdotcom. Maybe a month in the fridge. Poured into a fluted tulip thingie.

Stiff peaks & a slightly hazed pale golden body. Lots of activity underneath.

Peppery, doughy, flowery/soapy bittersweet scent, turning a bit sharp.

Tastes of biscuit, bittergreens, & flour/pancake mix. Ugly, unrelenting Aprin bitterness from middle on end. Some weird residual peanut flavor that is more obvious when it's really cold. Very strange.

Big, heavyhanded carbonation. Mellow alcohol. Foamy. Dry.

That peanut flavor really threw me for a loop. Wouldn't of been a pretty score anyway though. (689 characters)

Poured into a Gavroche tulip. Pours a light straw amber with a massive half glass white head that dissipates to a thick chunky cap with heavy lacing. Aroma of saison yeast, very light apple and pear, minerals, hints of wheat. Flavor is wheat, light pomaceous fruit, coriander, grass; finishing very dry with grassy hops, coriander and peppery Belgian spicing. Lingering peppery spices and hop bitterness. Medium bodied with spicy carbonation. A very nice, deceptively simple saison that has a great flavor progression and just enough fruit flavor to appear to be dry and yeasty, but with enough fruit sweetness to make the entire taste pleasant and interesting. Saisons are a style that I have mixed feelings about, but this one was a hands down winner. Nicely done. A bit over carbonated, though. (797 characters)

Bottle opened on 8.23.13

A - Pours a hazy straw yellow with a large active head that fades slowly.

S - Banana, Belgian spices - strong and nice.

T - Strong yeast, lost the fruit here.

D - Dry, Good carbonation with a light body.

O - Great nose, but some are lost in the flavor. Decent, but I know Logsdon can do better. (325 characters)
