Recently found my Founders Devil Dancer here. Called up for the first time ever and Carlos answered the phone. He was extremely helpful and pleasant and agreed to put the last 4-pack on reserve for me.

When I showed up with my brother-in-law the plan was to run in, grab the beer and pop out, but upon entering I was catch by the big craft beer aisle. I ended up picking up a couple of bombers of Two Brothers Hop Juice, a Stone Ruination and Chocolate Yeti Stout from Great Divide.

When I went to check out Carlos immediately turned around to grab my 4-pack of Founders and then chatted with me for a few minutes about beer. It was an unusually great liquor store experience and I did not expect to find that at Milwaukee and Lawrence.

To top it all off a bar is attached to the store and when we wandered in there ordered a couple Firestone Double Jack IPAs. They were poured in 20oz. Imperial pint glasses and cost a staggeringly low $5 each.

This place is great. Check it out soon.

Definitely add this place to your list of "go-to" stores. For sure one of the best independents in Chicago. Small, but densely packed with good selections. Probably the best selection of local beers that I have come across. You can occasionally find gems, but just like everywhere else they disappear fast. You can get on the mailing list for email updates about new arrivals. Always nice to get beer updates delivered to your inbox. Lots of interesting tap takeovers and other events at the bar. Almost always have a couple unique / hard to find things on draft you will be excited about.

We're passing through town to get a flight out of O'hare. Bartender takes me aside and asks if I'd be interested in meeting a gentleman across the room who has my exact name, first, middle, and last. Why not? Turns out he's a Chicago police officer. He shows me his drivers license to show me his three names really are the same as mine. And I see he has the same birthday as my wife, who's standing there with me. Not just the same birthday. Same year, too. My wife is standing there shaking his hand when I guffaw about the birthday situation. She's floored. While it might not be unusual to meet someone with the same month & day as you. But the birth year, also? And the same exact name as you husband? What are the f-ing odds?!

All in all, I was also totally pleased to drink one goblet of Bell's Expedition Stout and one of Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree.

This is a small little store front but it packs a great deal of good beer into that space. I really liked all the local gems as well as a good solid number of craft brews from around the states and some good uncommon beers from Europe. I will be back.

Stopped in the beer store to buy some local goodies, and I was blown away by the massive selection, especially the bombers. Plenty of Pipeworks, Transient, 3F, and so many other local breweries that are putting out some unique and quality stuff. The store clerk was very helpful in showing me everything that I was looking for and then some. Unassuming on the outside, beer nirvana on the insdie. Highly Recommend!

Love this place, anytime I'm in the area I make stop...grab a beer, and check out the liquor store next door.

Always doing tap takeovers and have an amazing event for an amazing cause (Kegs for Kidneys).

Highly recommend making a stop and if you're hungry, usually some food trucks on the weekends or you can walk a half a block to La Estrella Taqueria, which has some awesome Mexican food.
