33cl can poured into a pokal.

A = Clear straw color forms small white head which disippates relatively quickly, light but steady carbonation.

S = Wet straw, earthy hops, light floral scents, pretty decent for the style.

T = Fresh grains and some spun sugar, light bitterness right at mid-palate, but mostly this is a sweet light foamy beer.

M = Medium-light body, good mouthcoating, smooth, full feel.

D = This is actually pretty decent for a sipping beer of this style. That said, it gets just s;lightly cloying by the end so I am not sure I would want too many of them.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours transparent yellow with quickly disappearing white head. The nose is quite sweet. Candy, malts, lots of honey. Smells a bit artificial. The taste follows the nose. A strange sweetness to it - almost a syrupy taste. Slight mint, malts, wheat, and grass. It's fine.

Poured from an undated 12oz can into a pils glass

On the pour a 2 finger head that pokes out of the top of the glass forms then slowly recedes to a rocky slightly fizzy head then to just a covering over thentop after 10 or so minutes. Body is a light golden straw with a very light chill haze.

Aroma is incredibly light and very clean. Based off the aroma alone and the inclusion of rice as the only adjunct I disagree with the current AAL classification and believe this is much closer to a Japanese Rice Lager. Light hops are present and a very light but clean lager yeast note. Malts are quite light and what is there is rice crackery.

Taste is very similar to the smell again very light, but insanely clean and detectably hoppy. Everything about this is light but the hops are floral and fruity woth almost zero bitterness and the yeast notes are light dry and again vaguely fruity. The finish is where the malt comes in and it is very light and crackery with rice lightness present, but the rice itself doesn't contribute much to the flavor. Once the beer warms a bit there is a bit of a dirty lager finish but it takes a while for it to set in and doesn't cover the good parts of this beer.

Feel is light and very dry with a decent carbonation bite. Very refreshing and drinkable but the mouthfeel is incredibly dry. Not the softest beer in the mouth, a bit of a fizzy feeling. Finish Is medium long but clean.

Overall this is an impressive Asian beer. More than just another boring pale lager, it has some defining features, and a nice floral hoppy note. Very dry and surprisingly good. I only got it because I kept seeing it at total beverage and the can looked nice but this is actually impressive and memorable.

Bottle pour into a tulip glass.
Clear golden appearance, with a foamy white head that recedes quickly to a collar. Grain, scallion, sweet tea notes. Light body and carbonation, creamy finish.

Clear yellow with high carbonation that feeds the white head. Sweet corn malt, cracker, and faint grassy hops with a hint of skunk. Taste is sweeter with cereal replacing the cracker, hops are even milder too, not skunk though. Carbonation is high but the body surprisingly holds together, certainly light and thin but never watery, just bland and weaker

Pours with stunning clarity. One glass has foam, the other none. Smells of faded hops, with a surprisingly prominent bitterness for what it is. Better than what I expected.

This one was a bit syrupy like the Marshmallow Man after he has a steamy night with the Mrs. - but that’s ok. For the most part, it wasn’t nasty or off-putting which is cool for beer and like, Marshmallow scoring with the Mrs. references.

Peace.

i am not positive i have it right here. my bottle has a green and gold label and in tiny letters says gold medal on it, but the abv is listed at 4.5%, not the 5% abv stated here on BA, so i am inclined to think i have the it right and that the abv has changed, rather than that i have the original 4.5% abv taiwan beer, which looks like it has blue graphics on it, but i am not sure, perhaps this is different for export, or maybe the original also won a gold medal of some kind? i will review it here as the colors line up and mine does in fact say gold medal on it, despite the lower abv. someone explain if you know please! i picked this up at the asian market here in boise, a place i need to frequent more regularly. never heard of or seen this anywhere before now. although i bought it cold, it immediately smells and tastes a little stale, some oxidation from its long journey here, but its super pale yellow, delicate and fizzy looking, and stands out to me as unique from a lot of international lagers, i cant be too harsh. a tad dusty to me, but also some light herbal bitterness from the hops and nothing obviously off, nothing metallic, not even all that cheap or adjuncty tasting to me, perhaps some rice in it, has that soft starchy feel, but its tough to tell. not as crisp as the best of these are, and i cant taste the yeast at all, but the carbonation is high, the body is light, and it has some refreshment value when its nice and cold. also, the price is right! we liked it better as a beer blender for a spicy strong bloody mary than as a drinking beer, but you can do a lot worse than this one in the category...

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.

Pale light brass colored, with a farily deep yellow and very clear body. Ocassional rising carbonation, but mostly minimal. Head is real bright white, kind of fluffy and manges about two solid fingers in height, then slowly sinks to a nice collar.

Aroma is of adjunct grain, but also heavily sensing a bit of chemical notes. Hits slightly medicinal like as well, a touch of sweetness as well kicking in. Fairly ordinary as well even for a mass market lager.

Palate actually manages to surprise me. First sip manages slightly sweet watery notes, but then some depth comes in. Sweet adjunct quite a bit but with control. Definitely tastes like sweet rice and a hint that goes toward a nice honey like flavor. Good coating palate and quite refreshing, with no odd aftertaste either.

Unique sweetness on a mass market lager, but one that is easy drinking and surprisingly memorable. It's not amazing, but far better than I was expecting.

Don't let the outlook fool you. Classic packaging which is not so appealing towards younger generation. Taste wise definitely better than most lager around the same league. Recommended!

Kind of an odd beer, for sure. I just picked it up because I like trying new, random thingees. It was not totally horrible really. Nothing distinctive about it, but it did not make me make a bad face or anything like that. I would rate it as a slightly below average lager, but I would not reject a free one!
