Very solid stout with heavy flavors and aromas of coffee, cream, chocolate, and hints of vanilla. Pours dark with a rich head. Very drinkable, the 6.5% ABV isn't noticeable.

Dark brown, but light does shine through the glass. Beige, thick head. Extensive spotty lace.
Dark cocoa aroma. A touch of coffee and cream. The smell is similar to unsweetened chocolate.
The flavor is drier and closer to the coffee flavors than the smell indicates. The finish and aftertaste features plenty of black patent malt bitterness. The body is greater than Irish Stouts, which is always lighter than one expects. High carbonation. Long unsweetened Baker's chocolate aftertaste.

Bought a six-pack at Broue-Ha-Ha in Gatineau, Quebec. For whatever reason, I was not impressed with my first try at this, but subsequent bottles - on different nights ! - have been good. Dark colour, no light coming through, not much head. Sweet, boozy aroma. Flavourful stout with a nice booziness to it.

Bottle poured into a tulip enjoyed at Beer Revolution in Calgary. A pitch black brew with a rich, dense, creamy mocha colored head, maybe three fingers worth. Billing makes it sound like a milk stout on performance enhancers. Does look the part.
Aroma is rich with milk chocolate, cappuccino, and tiramisu with hints of caramel and red licorice. Decadent. Taste largely reflects the spectacular nose, huge chocolate cake initially followed by a vibrant coffee bean element. Thick and rich milkshake-like body only adds to the dessert impression. Some caramel malts in the background. Maybe a whiff of burnt marshmallow. Finishes with more sweetness and just a little dark roast. Alcohol is detectable and makes one think of a coffee liqueur.
Where did this come from (yes, Quebec ... I know!)? Certainly a worthy find for a guy craving something sweet after a previous run of heavy hops. If I had to complain, the sweetness could be dialed down just a hair in favor of the coffee. I am a picky ass when it comes to coffee stouts, though. Usually they are too burnt. This is the way to err.
