look: 4.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: It has a nice semi-cloudy golden/orange color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves nice lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitly give out hints of citrus, pine, grass and an almost hefe like spiciness.

Taste: Like the aromas, I'm getting mostly piney and grassy hops, with some citrus, some light caramelly malts and still that hefe like spiciness.

Mouthfeel: It has a medium/high carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas.

Single bottle from Broue Ha Ha, picked up on a whim from among their selection of singles.

Poured into a nonic. Hazy caramel-copper, with a billowing head of foam that produces scads of sticky lace.

Nose is very hoppy indeed, with citrus pith being the dominant note I can detect. A bit funky, but generally it is fine.

Not really sure what to make of this beer. Initially there is that pithy hop blast (by that I mean it tastes of pith, not that it is overly concise) , which eventually tastes more of a generously-hopped pale ale. Can't say I'm really enjoying the flavor, as the hops are tasting somewhat skunky and off, but there are some notes of resin and citrus. The depth of the brew isn't there either - once the initial blast is gone, there isn't much else to detect.

Thinner bodied, feeling a great deal like a cream ale with low carbonation and a dry mouthfeel.

Something about the brew just felt off, whether it was the specific style of hops or how it was hopped. In either case, the lack of balance, the feel and the general skunky taste in this beer made this a miss for me.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of medium bitter hops notes with light pine notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix between some medium bitter notes with light pine notes and some dry caramel malt notes also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad overall but a bit more floral hoppy notes would improve this beer.

The color is copper with a good looking foam head (beige). Quite carbonated. The aroma is quite intense in piney with some caramel malts. Too piney, it's seems unbalanced to me. In the mouth, it's a hop bomb. Pine tree... It's seems I'm licking a pine tree... Too much to be fun. The bitterness is timid too, but it's there. Not bad, but not great.

If you like pines notes, then this one is for you. For me, it's too unbalanced.

A: Nice golden color

S: wow, this is hoppy! Lots of pine, grassy aromas, I just love it...

T: Intense, hoppy as hell, with a nice citrus, mango touch, and a solid bitter finale, with piney hops

M: Pretyt smooth, low alcool so really refreshing. I'd drink a LOT of this.

O: One of the best, if not the ebst american pale ale brewed in Quebec, with a westcoast-like use of hops. I really enjoyed this one, IMO, the best beer they have brewed yet, since about a year...

500ml Bottle from Marche Omni QC for 5$

Appearance - Hazy amber/copper colour with an above average size fizzy/frothy off-white coloured head. There a low amount of carbonation and there is some decent lacing. The head lasted for 4-5 minutes.

Smell - Malts, hops, lemons, grapefruit

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste hops and malts mixed with grapefruit and lemons. There is also some caramel notes and a bit of a chalkiness. It ends with a dry bitter aftertaste.

Overall - It reminds me a bit of the latest Stone Anniversary beer.. the lemon juice and zest. It's an okay beer that is on the right track. It definitely has a lot of bitterness, it's just missing that west coast lip smacking fruit nectar/juiciness.

500mL bottle purchased in Montreal. Pours a burnt orange color with an inch of white head. Some lacing. The aroma is sweet citrus hops. Hints of pine as well. The taste is piney with bitter grapefruit peel. Big bitter taste. Almost reminds me of a lighter version of some of the hoppy "triple IPAs" like Moylan's Hopsickle. Piney and floral at the end. Oily mouthfeel with a lot of tingly carbonation. The hop grenade on the label doesn't lie, this is one hop forward Blonde Ale. Overall, a nice hoppy surprise. I'd really like to have this again but they may prove difficult.

The label says "Ale Blonde Houblonée" (Hoppy Blond Ale).  And with a literal hop grenade, I'd expect a near IPA, and so it is.

Small head that settles to no bubbles.  Very cloudy broth with a copper amber color.

Strong hop aroma of evergreen and grapefruit. Moderate pale malt aroma in the background.

Starts with a mild pale ale malt. By the time of the swallow, it's all (strong black pepper) hop bite. Long lasting, bitter aftertaste. Full round body with modest carbonation. This is a hop bomb.

Taste of hops, orange and cantaloupe. Citrus taste a lot at the beginning but the final is just bitter and tasteless.

I clearly had a completely different experience with this beer compared to the previous rating. I virtually never drain pour and I came close with this one. Maybe I got a bad bottle?

Lemon rinds, skunky hops - you can smell the oils from the hops. There is a weird sour smell happening. Kind of like when a piece if citrus fruit is overripe and going bad - Not in a good way.

Taste is all hops, can't taste much else in here. It's got this piney, acrid funkiness that's pretty odd and off-putting. Ends in a solid bitter punch. Some fruitiness in there I guess.

Overall this is pretty unbalanced and just plain bad. Will not be trying this again. I find this brewery pretty hit and miss, where the misses are growing the more I'm trying. I do like their American IPA, though.

(3.75) A: Darker copper with a very tall and bubbly head that slowly recedes to a thin blanket. Good retention with similar lacing.

(4.0) S: Dry pine, mostly citrus fruits (juicy orange), hints of tropical fruits as well (papaya, pineapple), distinct herbal/floral qualities, and a caramel malt backbone. Herbal/floral notes are prominent and mingle well with the various citrus and tropical fruit aromas.

(4.0) T: Citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit), tropical fruits (banana, pineapple), pine, herbal/floral taste, and a smooth caramel backbone. Sweet banana is surprisingly detectable along with a pleasant herbal/floral taste. A very flavourful and diverse tasting IPA considering the lower ABV.

(3.75) M: Medium bodied with a moderate-higher carbonation. Slick and creamy with a bit of texture.

(4.0) D: This is a very good IPA with a solid taste profile that is quite easy-to-drink. Definitely an IPA that I would pick up again.
