Green bottle pour into glass, best by date "05/06/16". Straw yellow, or yellow with a brown tone. White head that was moderately durable. Strong hops aroma, flowery, sort of waxy, with perhaps also a bit of crackers. And yes, somewhat skunky. Taste starts quite mild and grows a bit, but not too much. Hoppy tartness over a weak malt that fades before it makes much of a statement. The astringency is not unpleasant, but there's not a great depth. Like the nose, if you search for it there's a bit of a cracker flavor to it. Mouthfeel a little zingy then bubbly or sudsy before fading. Leaves a not entirely desirable hoppy aftertaste.

I remember drinking a few of these on hot summer days in Rome. They made good summer quenchers, but there are certainly more solidly put together beers of this type available. With the green bottles... it's hard to get one that tastes fresh, I guess.

Pours gold , clear with a creamy white head that had good retention. No lacing. Nose is malty with a soft and very light floral int he background. Cool hop herbal, faint sulfur. No diacetyl, light dms. Excellent nose. This has that weedy scent that I associate with some eeuro lagers. taste is breaddy. Mouthfeel is lovely with soft big bubbles to accent malty flavors rather than small biting ones. taste follows the nose and hops show a firm bitterness toward the finish that lasts and malt lingers golden int he aftertaste. I really liked this one. Crisp adn easy to drink.

From Hipercor Huelva. In Teku glass. Ordering the beer cellar. Good industrial lager. Nothing out of place. Nothing extraordinary either. Helps fighting the thirst without disgust

Pale gold (3) pour with white head; cap quickly disappeared; good lace and excellent clarity. Corn syrup nose. Corny, bready, grainy, semi sweet malt. Super light mouthfeel; moderate plus carbonation. DMS linger...I've had worse...

Draft at Martini Columbus. 20 oz Pilsner glass.

A: moderate burnished gold, one finger white head faded to nothing. Ample carbonation, with minimal lacing (though it had some).

S: light bready malt, lager yeast and a soapy floral hop. Very much the green bottle beer smell, but not skunked, just a very floral euro hop. Some faint citrus.

T: dry arrival turns maltier than expected, surprisingly not sweet. Mid palate the floral hops come to bear and then turn to a moderate bittering. Very clean, but with a little lingering floral taste floating in the back of my throat.

M: quite carbonated, and thicker than expected; mid to light bodied.

O: a decent Euro lager. I first had this on a long Alitalia flight and was really impressed. It is still a great summertime mass produced lager, but I tend to prefer something with a little more oomph. If in an Italian restaurant, I have no qualms ordering this.

I was really surprised that this was the best beer on offer at a party in the UK. The country has some fine real ales, but this lager is weak flavored and unimpressive.

Poured at 45°F from a 12oz bottle (best before 20Apr15) into a pilsner glass.
LOOK: Pours with 2 finger's of dense, white foam that dissipates into a half finger's worth after 2 and a half minutes. Straw yellow in color with a plethora of medium-sized rising bubbles. Lacing is thin and subtle.
SMELL: There are hints of bready malts and some strange chemical (the closest thing that comes to mind is a neutral-scented floor cleaner). Other than that, it sort of smells like water.
TASTE: Mild chemical (once again, neutral-scented floor cleaner) flavors enter initially and are immediately followed by subtle floral hop and bready malt flavors. That is all. Disgustingly simple.
FEEL: Medium-bodied and moderately carbonated. Goes down somewhat smooth. Finishes crisp.
NOTE: Did I just drink some household cleaner? On the positive side, I didn't get any skunk flavors nor aromas that others report.

A great summer beer from Italy. It's got that skunky, dope smell that most people complain about, but I honestly couldn't care less. It's got that intense carbonation and silkiness that comes with a good euro lager with the added cooling effect if you drink it on a hot sunny day. Is it a craft beer? Not by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a great summer beer for a half decent price and it beats the shit out of Corona or any other of the import or domestic beers one might favor for the summer season. I rate it higher than most of the others on here. Maybe I'm a bit biased about it, but honestly, if you were to want to try a beer and checked Beer Advocate first, you would probably end up not buying anything. Reviewers on here shamefully rip apart macro and domestic beers because they aren't, 'up to snuff.'

Peroni is a well rounded, good tasting imported lager with a fair price tag. Enjoy on a hot day with your friends.

This is not a good beer. However I'd still drink it over most macros because it is not sugary sweet. However, it's not really anything. Actually, as I continued to drink it the beer got worse. It's terrible.

Wildly unimpressive beer, with slinky odour and taste. Beyond that the taste has some bland malty tones, and a rough finish. This is certainly a beer I will not be buying in the future.

This beer is terrible. I was not even able to finish it. Adjuncts dominated the smells. It's also a bit costly around my place. The worst beer I have tried from Italy.

Single bottle from a local gas station for $1.00 flat. How bad can it really be?

Look - Do I really need to describe this again? It's a euro lager and I'm sure this won't be much different than the others in any department
Pours cleat yellow with the typical frothy white head that disappears faster than a bum who just found out he is going to be a father.

Smell - A bit chemical with the usual notorious euro green bottle skunk.

Taste - Dextrin and grains with the mouth and turn to pretzel water.

Feel - A bit lifeless. Sits like carbonated water.

Overall - It's just another euro lager in a fancy colorful bottle.

Picked this up as a part of a build-your-own-sixer at my local grocer. The best by date states it's still good for another two months. Poured right from the fridge into my pilsner glass.

L: Pours a crystal-clear pale straw with about an inch of white head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing. Moderate visible carbonation.

S: Cracker malts, a bit of lemon zest, hints of cracked pepper, and a bit of skunk to boot. Some sweet corn coming through, as well.

T: Some sweetness and cracker malt at the front end. There's a turn to the tart side of things, as a bit of lemon zest builds in the middle, along with cracked pepper and a bit of stewed corn. The back end has a fleeting taste of sweet white wine and just a bit of hop twang at the close.

F: Light-bodied, with a good level of carbonation that brings out the crispness and zest. A bit tart, with a bit of graininess at the close.

O: The last time I had this beer was at a pizza joint my wife and I loved when we lived in Milwaukee over five years ago. It does go nicely with pizza and Italian food, but it's far from spectacular on its own. I've had worse Euro pale lagers, but I've definitely had better.

Oh man, this was bad. Started out OK... three finger head, nice clear yellow, but when the head died down there was no lacing, no staying power.

Aroma was some lagery skunkiness and sweet grains, but not strong at all. Mild to the extreme.

Taste was bland and weak. Slightly bitter, but no hop flavor. Mostly skunky malt. Ick.

Mouthfeel was way too watery, No body at all.

Overall I will avoid this beer at all costs.

Sampling right now on 6/4/15 but had this before and when I was stationed in Italy from 1980 to 1982. Comes in a nice 330ml (11.2 ounce) bottle with a "10/20/15" (Best By date) on the back label. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a flute glass.

Brew pours a straw-yellow in color with a thin white head. Really not much lacing is seen when sipped. The aroma is of some grains for the most part with the typical 'skunky' smell from the green bottle. What's up with that? LOL! :) The taste if of some grains with a metallic mineral taste also close to the finish. Drinkable but that's all I can say for it. A bit rough. Guess this is the Italian version of "Budwesier'. Lighter-bodied with above average carbonation. Nothing special at all.

It is basically the Italian Budweiser, or Heineken, or Miller, or (Insert your go to macro lager here). Nothing bad or awful but nothing special either.

I probably wouldn't buy this brew for the house, but in my favorite Italian restaurant in Westmont IL, sitting at the bar with a pizza and listening to a guy cover Sinatra and other greats, Peroni is outstanding. Mildly skunky but overall a very refreshing beer.

I enjoy some macro euro lagers, but this is not one of them. Always have a very skunky taste. It's fairly drinkable but not really enjoyable. Even for a macro, there are plenty of better euro lagers out there

Pours a straw yellow with little head. Grassy aroma and taste. Malt backbone and mild hop bite. Crisp and refreshing.
Not a terrible macro lager. I rate it higher than most people here. However, there are of course better choices out there.

Very pale straw color. White foamy 2 finger head lasting around 3 minutes. Average legs with almost no visible activity.

Faint aromas and flavors of skunk, corn and citrus. Crisp and sharp taste on the bitter side.

Light body with low carbonation. Very short and faint bitter finish, ending with a light smoky skunky feel.

Overall : Poor craft being too watery and a little stale.

Why do brewers keep putting beer in green bottles? I've never had a green bottle import that didn't taste at least a little skunky. Put that aside and this is an easy drinking, lawn mowing beer. Nothing great, but serves a purpose.

Your average euro lager, slight skunk and plenty of grain. Very beer-y beer. Average, but not bad. Have it on-tap and leave your snobbery at the door.

A- Super heavy carbonation is the key look to this ultra clear, pale yellow colored Euro lager. The head is pure white and doesn't produce much of anything other than some thin patchy foam. Surprisingly, the lacing is not half bad, with some sticky bubbly foam clinging to the glass....it does slowly find it's way back into the beer itself. Very typical cheaper looking lager.

S- Again, this is typical of the style. Skunky, but not nearly as bad as others of this style. There are hints of bread/yeast and some dried barley grain and/or grassy. While the aroma is much better than expected, there is still a hint of corn/rice adjunts. Minimal hop presence, which isn't unexpected and it smells very clean.

T- As the aroma suggested, this is very much a clean brew flavor wise. There is adjunct laden flavors of boiled corn and/or white rice. Lingering in the background are mild flavors of sweet malt and the aforementioned yeasty/bread qualities. Nothing in the hop department....good overall!

M/O- A perfect example of what a clean, crisp lager should be! Thin bodied and plenty of palate scrubbing carbonation make this a great session beer for a club meeting in the evening. It really can be enjoyed by everyone and has more flavor than standard BMC offerings, without the tang of typical Euro lagers. I've bought this before and I'll buy it again.....I like it for what it is and think it's an underrated beer!

Bright clear light straw colour. Inch and a half of white head. Few streams of fast bubbles. Some lacing.

Mid grassy hop aroma. Hint of spice - cinnamom. A bit bready.

Very mild taste. I had to take a big gulp to get the mild grassy hops. Corn instead of barley.

Light feel. Watery.

Not really a bad beer but very weak. I would only drink this if it was free which it was. Coupon giveaway outside the LCBO.
