Brilliant pale straw color, with yellow hues. Carbonation is fine in texture. Bright white, moderate head formation with very little retention.

Low grainy malt aroma that is slightly sweet on the nose. Light fruitiness and mild white flowers.

Crisp flavor with mild malt notes. The hops are not really perceptible, but there is enough there to keep the flavor in balance. The finish has a very mild bitterness that is not unpleasant.

A crisp, refreshing mouth feel, that is both very clean and very short.

While not flawed, there is just not much here to hold your interest.

Visiting family in Florida, the in-laws took the crew out for dinner at an Italian chain restaurant. The beer selection was worse than limited; this looked like the best option (When in Rome, right?). Peroni is a good thirst quencher, if nothing else. We were also there during happy hour, so I got a twofer.

The beer was a pale yellow color withe a thin white head. There were a few specks of lace.

Grainy aroma, slight herbal hops.

Not much in the taste. Grainy, a touch of hops.

Inoffensive. Not very good.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of June 2014. Acquired a little while back from a B&M store.

Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear golden-amber colour with good carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a surface layer. Aroma of cooked grain with hints of DMS, faint yeast and a twinge of stewed leaves. Slightly sweet. Fairly clean but doesn't whet the appetite.

Tastes of watery, grainy malt with a mild finish. Notes of cooked grain, weak malt, yeast, mild DMS and stewed leaves/overdone veg. A faint bitterness upon swallowing, with a harsh, dry character. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with prickly carbonation and a thin, watery body. Slightly astringent, followed by an acrid aftertaste of stewed leaves, cardboard and grain.

Not particularly nice. It looks pretty good, however the aroma is a non-event and the flavour is weak and plagued by unpleasant off-notes. Average body for the style. Too much grain in the flavour - where is the crisp character and spicy noble hops that distinguish a quality lager? No need to hunt this down; spend your money on something good....

Not much nose, strong taste watery. It's actually very close to water but with a bitter-sweet side unpleasant. The bitterness in the finish is, it, dirty and artificial, which does not give value to the ordinary lager. Persistent non-existent. Not much to put under the tongue, even if we take into account that this is just a classic lager.

330ml bottle

A- Transparent, light golden colour with a hint of white head that disappears pretty quickly. The beer leaves some hints of lacing on the glass though. Some carbonation is visible

S- Typical light grainy smell, but decently fresh if compared to other industrial lagers. A slight floral hint from the hops

T- Pretty much what the smell suggested and pretty much the standard for industrial lagers. Crisp, grainy malts with some light floral notes, expecially on the tongue. Maybe a note of corn that vaguely reminds of an adjunct lager. Decently refreshing and overall nicely balanced on the bitter/sweet combination. While most euro pale lagers have an unpleasant metallic bitterness this is not the case with this one

M- Light body and quite watery mouthfeel. Still decently lively due to a nice amount of carbonation that still never gets too arrogant

O- This is a very simple and decently refreshing beer, and it does not have any major flaw. Among industrial pale lagers, it almost feels like a gem

A clear and very pale straw colored beer, a white head that settles quickly, leaving no lacing. No curtains.

Smelling of some sweet corn. grass and lemon.

Rather little taste, sweet boiled corn, some lemon juice, a modest bitterness.

Medium low carbonation, a bit watery and thin body, slightly dry finish.

A very booring beer.

SNAP! A crisp lager with a crisp feel in the mouth. Closest cousins are its Euro neighbors to the north, Beck's and St. Pauli Girl. Peroni is the official beer of Olive Garden - order it instead of their crummy wines that come in a screw-top bottle.

On tap at an Italian chain restaurant. Comes to the table a clear straw yellow color with a decent off white head that leaves spotty lacing. Smells of grainy malt a light floral hops. The flavor is as lackluster as the aroma. Light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet grainy mouthfeel. Barely better than a Bud, but technically defect free, unless you consider a lack of flavor a flaw.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with relativelly small white had that immediately disappears.
The aroma is very mild, just some little amounts of malt and grains.
The taste starts sweet and follows with no real taste. The finish is slightly on the bitter side, but only just.
Watery without any real taste. Drinkable if ice cold.

This is the 'normal' peroni, not the premium version the nastro azzuro. Bought in Italy (it was cheaper than the Nastro Azzuro) and it comes in a 650ml bottle, like most beers in Italy.

A very pale golden lager with lots of carbonation visible.

I always class macro lager in two types: Grainy smelling ones such as Bud, Miller and the Modelo offerings and the class where this one belongs to including Efes, Nastro Azzuro, Mythos and such. it has a grassy, hoppy smell and some adjunct too. Quite nice for a lager actually.

The taste is mild, bland, grainy and a little sweet. Very easy to drink and this would work well for warm weather. Nothing special.

Very light and watery with quite alot of carbonation.

Not special at all but it is funny that most people don't know this beer while they think that the Nastro Azzuro is the one and only Peroni. But this one is the standard non-'premium' version that is, as far as I know, not sold outside of Italy.

appearance: Not a bad looking beer butt too much of a weak straw color. Vigorous head

smell: Skunk like smell that is not appealing, Hints of alcohol and grain but not something to look forward to.

taste: Not as bad as the smell implies. Has less of a grainy flavor than one would suspect. Almost similar to a Bud, in fact about the same in dynamic of flavor. Somewhat sweet.

mouthfeel: Stays at the back of the palet where the hops come out. Seems like it rests there a little too long.

overall: when in Rome, stick with the wine. this is a great reason to have limochello instead of an after dinner brew when on the boot.

Not one of my favorites. The appearance was a clear yellow color with a soft one finger white foamy head that quickly dies down to a film in the center of the beer . The smell had some cooked corn with a cereal - like content. The taste was somewhat sweet for what was there. On the nose and palate, this was somewhat of a macro brew skunk with a watery corn aftertaste.

Pale straw & clear. Finger sized, bubbly white head that stayed for about 30s then seconds before turning into a soapy lacing around the top.

Several adjuncts including corn, some light grassy hops and a faint bit of grain but nothing off-putting and none of the usual ‘skunk’ aromas.

Average with nothing out of the ordinary here, just a light tasting pale lager with hints of corn, grain and very faint grassy or floral hops. Sweet towards the end.

Pretty light on the palate and smooth as you would expect from this style of beer. The carbonation wastrel excessive which was a bonus and it was easy enough to drink.

Average. It's not great and generally quite bland but it’s not off-putting or undrinkable. The appearance and palate are above average for the style but the taste & smell are not.

Bottle from The Metropolitan Club in D.C.

The beer is clear and golden with an inch of white head. The aroma is weak, offering grains, malt, sweetness. Crisp and clean. refreshing, though too grainy. Notes of corn and sweet alcohol. A beer for the masses, or to be consumed for free while gigging at a place such as this. I'm just glad guys like me can drink beers like this while playing music like that for people like them.
