9 ounce serving - $4.00 at The Wrecking Bar in Atlanta, Georgia.
Appearance: Served a hazed, dark reddish-amber body, a bit garnet-toned, with a finger's worth of yellow-beige froth.
Smell: Plum-infused alcohol, chewing gum, and a sprinkling of cloves. It's sweet-scented and a bit cutting, booze-wise. Some caramel, some bready malts as well.
Taste: Sugary sweet in the fore with plentiful tastes of caramel and honey enveloped bready barley. It's fruity and spicy and with a noticed alcohol presence early on. Very, very low hop profile and accompanying bitterness, leaving those plucky phenols and the alcohol to cut through the continued sweetness. Slightly boozy and still sweet on the finish with final tastes of plums and gums.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Some smooth creaminess to the overall mouthfeel.
Overall: It's an agreeable dubbel, though I'd personally prefer a skosh less sweetness and a skosh less alcohol coming through.

Pours a barely translucent mahogany with a thin, fine-bubbled light tan head. Strong aroma is fruity and malty and has a woody hint. Flavor is rich and fruity, mainly apple and pear, with a malty undertone and hints of caramel and horehound. Fizzy, edgy texture leaves a woody, fruity and tingly finish.

On-tap at the brewpub.
Pours a clear amber-brown color with an off-white head that leaves light lacing.
Smells of smooth dark malts with hints of breadiness and large amounts of dark fruits – raisins, figs, and plums. Also present are hints of brown sugar and indistinct spices.
Tastes more robust than it smells. Grainy dark malts up front are joined quickly by sugar-dusted dark fruits – raisins and plums mostly. Midway through the flavor profile thickens with the addition of robust bready flavors before slight earthy hops carry through to a mildly bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with active carbonation.
Overall I thought this was a solid beer for a style that’s hard to do well. Certainly worth a shot.

On-tap at the brewpub. Original gravity 1.070, 20 IBUs, brewed with yeast from Chimay and with the brewpub's own candi sugar. This is quite nice overall. Pours a pleasant garnet color with some brown highlights and a very slight head that fades away. Smells sweet and fruity with notes of fig, plum, cherry, and apple, and a touch of brown bread. The taste is very balanced, with a nice estery fruitiness, some sweet notes from the candi sugar, and an undercurrent of bitterness that fades by the finish, but helps pull it all together. Smooth, and a bit sweet, but as it should be and not over the top, I find this very pleasant.
