Pours a hazy amber/orange with a decently thick white head. Not much retention but a slight collar leaves some lacing. The aroma starts out with strong citrus hops notes but as it opens up in the air it sort of drifts off. There's still some hops, but its not as distinct. The same can be said for the taste. All that being said, it still tastes and smells pretty good. It has a nice weight to the body and all in all I'm not unhappy I got it.

Aroma: Piney and citrus hop aroma leads the way into a slight alcohol aroma. Very subtle caramel malt detected that almost hides. Fruity ester are low to not present. Hard to discern through the strong hop aroma and alcohol.
Appearence: Dark golden sea with one finger, white head consisted of tightly packed bubbles. Clarity is good with a slight haze, possibly from dry hopping. Lacing leaves its mark on the glass.
Taste: Sharp harsh hop bitterness dominates taste. Subtle caramel notes and low citrus hop flavor appear but are suddenly over powered by the lingering bitterness. Finish is dry with lingering bitterness.
Mouth feel: Medium body with moderate carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. No hop astringency, but hot alcohol warmth detected.
Overall: Bitterness dominates this DIPA followed by alcohol warmth. Recommend backing off on bittering charge and lowering alcohol. I've had much smoother, pleasing DIPA. Nice attempt, but bitterness overpowers the beer, leaving the experience too one dimensional. Aging may help reduce alcohol warmth and bitterness.

A: This poured a nearly opaque gold with a little white head.
S: It smelled like fresh grapefruit and sugary oranges.
T: It tasted like sweet citrus and bitter resin, with some sugary honey. It had a lasting bitter aftertaste.
M: It was watery with some carbonation. Kind of light body.
D: This was a solid double IPA, with bold hoppy scent and taste. The body was a little weak, and the finish was a little harsh. So it wasn't terribly easy to drink, but it was still a decent brew.
