Baltic porter pours a nice black color with very a nice tan head. There is a strong coffee aroma, with a nice malty backbone. Coffee flavors come through, on a strong malty backbone, has a nice sharpness due to a balanced smokey flavoring. Good full flavor, and yet easy to drink. Overall a good example of a Baltic porter.

Thanks to Peter for bringing this back from Eau Claire.
A: deep copper color, clear with very subdued head
S: mild, almost IRS-like with deep dark roasted malt, clean, burnt chocolate undertones, some EtOH
T: deep roasted malt taste with good hop bitter finish but in balanced with style, deep dark roasted malt
M: medium bodied, good malt backbone that was balanced by hops, not a lot of EtOH noticeable
O: subdued CO2 was a problem but maybe it's an older growler (there was a lot of head space in the growler which I didn't like -- fill it to the top!)

Really good brew! Traditional flavors, very mild aroma. Photographic appearance. Served with a foamy, frothy, tan head that slowly settled and a bit of lace. Aroma and flavor are very traditional for a porter. super drinkable. one point is, for a baltic porter, the strength seems mild.

Clear auburn body. Crimson edging. Very little head. Lacing is minimal. Aroma is full of chocolate, cocoa powder, a little sweet malt and some roasted malt quality as well. Right off the bat I can tell this packs a lot of flavor...and good flavor. You get a mouth chock full of bittersweet chocolate, lactose nuances, roasted malt and meaty flavorful crystal malt as well. Chalky, dusty mouthfeel. Pretty round though. Nice and rounded I would say. Medium-full to full bodied. Could use a little more carbonation...even for a porter. But this is quite enjoyable. I've been impressed with both beers I've had from this brewery so far. Reminds me a little of Lake Louie during its infancy years ago...high quality beer served up in growlers.
