750ml brown bottle.

Massive head from an expressive carbonation, muddled orange hue. Musty aroma with hints of quince paste, orange pith, wild herbs, and mild medicinal phenols. Sufficient crispness, dry maltiness throughout with in a moderate sized body. Yeasty with a musty likeness. Modest hopping. Dried tropical fruit with herbal phenols in tow. Dry peppery finish.

Not too shabby, was hoping for a more clear "drinkable" brew though the yeast seemed to be a bit dominant in some ways.

Thanks to jmgrub for sharing this one at Retsinis' tasting.

Bottled 11/2013.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy curtain of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, earth, and Brett aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, earth, and Brett flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of Brett bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice earthy Brett presence all around.

Poured into a tulip glass from a 750ml bottle.
Bottled: 11/2013

Pours a nice dark copper and hazy amber color with some nice orange hues. A gentle pour generates a giant 3 inch head (as expected). Nice medium dense to very dense bubbles stick together very well. Seems almost as tight to float the bottle cap on it.

Aroma starts off with nice Bretty funk notes. Yeastey esters bring in some slight phenols and some nice spice notes such as coriander and pepper. This is balanced out by a nice aromatic hop presence. There are some slight citrus notes of orange and even some tropical fruits (papaya, mango). Nice fruit sweetness is perceived in the nose as well. Strong ripe pear and some apple notes are present. Mild tartness is also perceived in the nose.

The flavor is pretty delicious. It starts off with nice yeasty phenols and spice; with notes of coriander and pepper and even some clove. Then there are some nice Brett funk notes that give the brew and earthy and musty horse blanket notes. The brew is pretty funky and dry. There are some nice grain notes and fruit juice sweetness notes. Together with those notes there is a slight tartness provided by the Brett as well. There are notes of nice citrus hops that compliment the tartness. The finish is nice and dry with some lingering bitterness. Quite nice. The mouthfeel is light-medium and quite effervescent. Overall this is a solid Brett beer. I will try and get more and see how they develop with age however this brew is delicious fresh.
