ive been wanting to try this one for awhile, kiwi is one of those fruits that always seems to be one of many, never on its own, so its a neat showcase of it here. the beer lived up to expectations, as is almost always the case with perennial. this is surprisingly clear compared to a lot of other berliner types, has a little bit of farmy funk with the sour, and a nice mouthwatering tang from the souring and from the tart skins of the kiwi it seems. notes of green gooseberry, white wine grapes, and fleshy honeydew melon. the flavor is real clean, the kiwi is obvious but natural, fermented down to dry but more than just an essence or suggestion of it left, its ripe and tropical and interesting on top of such a light grain base, pale wheat and pils type malts i think. i like the little bit of funk, the moderate acidity, and the room for the fruit to do its thing. this seems slightly wild but also super well refined, its almost delicate in its complexity, and its real drinkable even as a sour. its not often a fruited berliner hits me like this, its not a style i have admired much, but this is tremendous. count on perennial to elevate a style like this. really tasty stuff, very summery, loved it!

Thanks Chris.
Hazy stop light yellowish orange body with a small head that fades rapidly. Kiwi / citrus aroma. Sour kiwis. Agressively sour. Light in body with a puckering finish. Piquant and bold. Good stuff.
