A dry-hopped Belgian Pale Ale which defies tradition by combining Chinook and Columbus hops in the kettle, a dry hop addition of Simcoe, Cascade, and Mt. Hood Hops, American malts, and a Belgian yeast strain. The result is a beer with earthy and spicy tones from the yeast and a slight orange note contributed by the hops.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of sweet grain with slight citrus. Tastes of sweet grain, Belgian yeast, and citrus. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

Hommel Bier pours a darker golden color with a large, long-lasting, lacing head. The aroma is sweet and dry dark fruits, with notes of candy. The flavor is slightly sweet, with dark fruit notes, a dry finish, and a hint of bitterness. Good feel. Overall, very flavorful and yet very balanced, with great spice flavors.

From City Brew Tours, best by December 4th 2023.
It pours a hazy orange gold with a nice head of foam, very good lacing and head retention.
The smell is has some Belgian yeast with some candi sugar but at the forefront is a rather pungent aroma of very bitter hops.
The taste, imho, is definitely overly bitter. It overpowers the yeast and sugar that I mentioned in the smell. This was supposed to showcase Centennial and Cascade hops but this goes over the top and beyond my pleasure zone.
Mouthfeel is good.
I will not have this again.

been a couple years since i’ve has one of these. poured from a 32oz crowler into a willi becher pint glass. pours a semi hazy gold with a fair amount of fluffy off-white head. nose is strong on the Belgian yeast and esters with some fruitiness coming through from the hops. taste leans on the Belgian characteristics more than the American pale ones. it’s got peppery spice, banana, ripe melon and perhaps some lemon. mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and medium-full. overall, this is quite refreshing and enjoyable. one that hasn’t been available besides a draft pour for quite some time. glad to have revisited.
