Black as night in appearance. Light does night penetrate this one. Good head retention. Very much so like a thin mint Girl Scout cookie on the nose. Very rich in flavor and this is like dessert in a glass. The mint flavor is barely held in check by the luscious chocolate flavoring and roasted barley. The mint also does a great job of masking the alcohol.

A - Black, opaque, light brown-pinky width head, lacing up to top o beer mark, light carbonation rising

S - mint chocolate chip, mint leaves, carmel, dark chocolate

T - Mint chip, dark chocolate, vanilla. finish: real bitter dark chocolate, smallest touch of booze

M - needs a warming. Carbonation is very nice, medium body, froth level is good, bitter dark chocolate lingers....for minutes

O - Lots of mint initially - dark bitter chocolate takes over. not real complex. just like the names says. mint. chocolate. mouth has great carbonation. If dark chocolate is your thing...you will love this beer, love it. if you were expecting sweet milk chocolate....haha- this is not the ride you were expecting.

You can really smell the mint and chocolate like junior mints. It's jet black and smooth. The taste is like the nose and you are really not let down between the nose and the taste. It is easy to drink a lot of this. A very balanced flavor profile. Many people we shared a growler with on Dark Lord Day also commented that the mint was very balanced. This is an excellent beer that I hope is brewed often.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Thick black body. Nice mocha head. Thick collar.

Smell - Tons of mint. Overpowering mint. Chocolate.

Taste - Chocolate. The mint takes over. Really too strong of a mint flavor that comes off as very sharp in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Thick and heavy. Overcarbonated.

Overall - I thought I'd like this more, but the mint is too much.

The color is a dark brown that lightens up quite a bit on the surface and edges. The head is dense and cinnamon colored.

Ha. It smells just like mint chocolate chip. The mint is a green fresh leaf smell. There's not a lot of depth, but let's call it for what it is.

The mint is a little overpowering in the flavor, but its still a damn good beer even if it is a little gimmicky. Mint and chocolate flavors with a light roast.

Mouthfeel is smooth, heavy, light carbonation.

I can see this as a highly polarizing beer. If you like mint and chocolate then give it a try. If not, pass.

Pours a black color with a big puffy toasted khaki colored head that slowly settles into a very solid cap

The aroma is of mint chocolate. Some bark notes but all mint chocolate. A bit unnatural.

A good shot of RIS roasted bitterness. This mixes well with some bitter chocolate and mint. Some wood and scorched caramel and the slightest of a dark fruit hint. Not gimmicky at all. Very RIS driven with chocolate malt and the addition of mint.

Moderate to full feel with soft carbonation. A dark fruit twang followed by a RIS bitterness. Lightly chalky.

A very good mint stout. Well balance between the RIS base, the chocolate, and the mint. Bravo
