A: Reddish-orange-brown in color, lightly cloudy. Forms virtually no head and leaves no lacing.

S: Aroma is rather vinous, mixed with notes of wood and cardboard. Lots of foxy grape, with some notes of brett as well.

T: Tart and very vinous, with notes of acidic red wine, concord grapes, and oak all mixed with a slight funkiness.

M: Tart, lighter body, with a spry carbonation.

O: I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of sours, but I do feel I can appreciate a quality sour when I come across one. However, I simply did not care for this beer. Between the brett and the heavy vinous quality, I just got the impression this was a wine that went bad.

pours a dirty brown. has this bit of clearness with a muddy mess. looks nice. lacks head from pour, otherwise nice.

light grape, comes off as a white grape. fairly fresh. slight vinegar tones with a slightly oaky and funkiness.

light sourness, maybe a hint of tartness up front. as it fades, the grape flavor emerges and brings out the life in this. some light brown ale through the finish with a lingering funk. aftertaste is grape.

mild carbonation, but smooth. dry finish.

overall, this is good. would maybe like a bit more grape. i would not sit on this as once the grape fades, the complexity of this will fade. drink now IMO, would drink this again. drinks easily.

Poured into a tulip glass, there was a thin layer of white foam that faded after a couple minutes, leaving behind a broken surface skim and minimal collar of lacing. Color is a deep saturated russet reddish-orange. A ring of stray bubbles remains in the glass.

Funky and acidic aroma, Brett comes through with some farmy notes, as well as wet wood, acidic fruit. Barrel character lends some complexity, vanilla and woody aromas.

Pleasantly tart and rounded, lingering fruity vinous notes, moderate acidity that is balanced well by a tiny bit of sweetness upfront and dry tannic notes in the finish. Cherry pit and almond, tart and dry. Medium bodied and spritzy, creamy and slightly vinous. Stylistically it resembles a Flanders Oud Bruin.

Pours ruby red with a small off-white head. Slight retention and lacing.

Grapes assert themselves boldly in the aroma. A lot of brett funky, oak and vinous smells too. A little bit tannic.

Vinous notes come out even more in the flavor and it's not quite as tart as the aromas indicate. In addition to the grapes there is a lot of funky brett, oak and tannins. Finishes dry with good drying sensation from the oak. Enough tartness here to stand out, but more funky than tart.

Medium bodied. Finishes dry on the palate. Alcohol very well hidden. Would have only pegged this one as a 5-6%

Definitely want to seek out another bottle of this to age. This would be another one to switch over wine loving friends. Lots of fresh grapes and tannic vinous qualities along with funky yet restrained brett. Perennial seems to be dialing in their bottle program as this is the first sour of theirs I've had that approaching how much I've liked their stuff on draft.
