On-tap at Small Bar Division. Thanks Cory!
A - Minimal foam settles to nothing. Cloudy Berliner Weisse-esque body that's a pale straw color.
S - Funky, a tad dirty, with musky overripe fruits, cereal grains, and perhaps a bit of plastic.
T - The taste is similar, with a hefty dose of brett, and not a ton of sourness. Well-attenuated, with less malt presence here. A tad rubbery in the finish.
M - Medium body, smooth texture, lower carbonation, and no obvious alcohol presence. I like my wilds with a bit more spritz, but I imagine blending and fruit would provide a few more fermentables for that purpose.
D - Not a bad 'sour' base, but not the most interesting beer on its own. Far more funky than sour. The Kiwi version added some nice acidity and obscured the odder brett flavors, so it's obvious there's potential here. Perhaps more time in the barrel would enhance complexity.
