Big thanks to rudzud for sharing.

Pours a very dark cocoa colored thick creamy frothy 1 finger head that fades at a med pace, nice lacing too.

Nose is awesome, fudge brownie, fudgesicle, lots of milk and dark choc, then a nice mint, almost peppermint patty like but not overpowering, nice caramel and hint of nougat. Then under all that is a nice whisky, on the lighter side but a def nice whisky aroma and faint barrel vanilla notes. So much choc and so many layers too.

Taste brings all of the same, dark choc, powdered cocoa, pure baking choc with a bitterness to it. So much fudge, again fudge brownie. Then peppermint in the background but light, again peppermint patty flavor. It gets fairly hot with booze, mostly clean booze but not too much, added to the whisky which brings a nice whisky flavor with the booze, and some vanilla barrel. Super dark choc with a light barrel char and vanilla comes through more add it goes. The booze flavor even comes through a bit and gets a little too strong, maybe it's only downfall. Creamy thick and rich. Finish is long with mouth coating dark bakers choc and fudge, light mint lingering too, but more whisky, not to much booze but some. Burp brings tons of mint that's no longer saturated with brownie and whisky.

Mouth is full bodied, thick and lush, but creamy, heavy, decent carb, some warning tingly boozy booze.

Overall awesome, great choc and fudge brownie, thick and lush, nice whisky notes and barrel, mint is nice that it's more subdued but def there. Great beer, very tasty, it's just the boozy booze that keeps this from being stellar. (1,599 characters)

The nightcap of an evening of amazing beers. Once again, my deepest thanks must go out to Cfan67. Dan, you truly are the man. Opened with Joe and Colleen, with a pour saved for my dear friend, Eddy. Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a Voodoo Barrel Room tasting snifter.

A- The beer pours black as a moonless night and forms a thin, mocha head. No light getting through, whatsoever. As with the BA Sump, this beer has great legs... I love legs.

S- Lord, have mercy... This smells like a York patty with a splash of bourbon. Perennial delivers with the mint, as dark chocolate and bourbon play the background. This is an outstanding aroma.

T- I didn't think the aroma could be outdone, but splendid dark chocolate flavors prove me wrong. There is a minty coolness on the flavor, though the delightful, fudgy, chocolate flavors are on display here. Quite understated bourbon and roast keep this beer from being too sweet. However, this is definitely a dessert beer, and one of which I am now quite fond.

O- This was the perfect nightcap. My friends and I did not have high expectations for this beer, and that allowed it to over-deliver. I'm not a huge "mint-chocolate" guy, but I can't get over how surprisingly delicious this was. I would jump at any opportunity to have another shot at this beer. Bravo, Perennial. (1,319 characters)

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Jet black with a nice mocha head. Thick collar.

Smell - Mint and chocolate. Still strong mint, but the whiskey cuts it well. Whiskey and vanilla. Mild oak. Smells good.

Taste - Mint. Chocolate. Mild whiskey. Chocolate comes back and the whiskey lingers in the finish. Vanilla rounds it out, but it's a mild barrel character.

Mouthfeel - Thick. Medium carbonation. Slightly boozy.

Overall - The whiskey cuts the mint enough to improve on the base beer. (508 characters)
