This is a tripel and it basically tastes like one. The pour is a dark gold (SRM 9), almost no head, not much lacing. Mouthfeel medium bodied. Taste starts sweet, ends sweet, with an alcohol gag at the finish. Not enough maltiness to bury the booze. Probably due to the use of honey as an adjunct. No acid. No hop nothin'. Aroma has a hint of honey, maybe a trace of coriander, or maybe that's something I just wanted. Very strong, sweet tripel, but not exceptional. (465 characters)

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Bottled June 2013.

Interesting color. Very orange bronze and deep, with some shining clarity, but head barely forms half a finger of creamy white. Manages to leave a simple good puck with noticeable carbonation on the sides of the glass. Beer has a real unique color, but looks quite lifeless.

Mild sensing honey, and plenty of candi sucrose. Smells incredibly sweet and sugary. Not much else going on here.

Palate comes with luckily not as much sweetness. Slight fussel notes of heat, but not too boozy on taste. Crisp and light bodied with not much thick malt presence. Slightly wet, but manages to hold up, but also makes for easier drinkability. A little soda like carbonation and slightly medicinal flavor on the finish as well.

Overall it's not bad, but doesn't come off as anything really memorable for a tripel. (866 characters)
