Poured from a 11.2 oz bottle into a tulip
A: as seems to be par for the course with all the st bernardus brews I get a massive three finger slightly browned head on this brew. Pleanty of lacing. The brew it self has a murky brown appearance with a very faint touch of ruby to it.
S: floral and bready yeast notes that can be found in all their beers, but it seems less
Pronounced here, over a nice malty base. I get pleanty of dark fruit and raisin and brown sugar in the nose as well.
T: much like the nose, the floraly and bready yeast notes mix with darkfruit aromas very nicely, brown sugar covered raisins, notes of caramel and toffee, apple/pear, nice complexity and balance.
M: very creamy and delicious. On the heavy side of medium with lush carbonation.
O: this is deffiantly my favorite at bernardus between this the triple and the prior 8. Nice complexity and balance and very nice mouthfeel.

A: Clear tree bark brown, soapy head (this bottle is literally overflowing just upon its opening). Some large debris is visible. Bonus points for the ridiculous head (it won't stop!), but I am a little worried about what happened to cause that/how long it's been on the shelf.
S: Pungent, several inches above my glass I'm still getting strong aromas of plum, mild malt, a touch of sweetness. Very clean.
T: Same as above, hints of caramel in addition. Initial taste is dry, mild sweetness on the finish. No alcohol trace, impressive.
M: Silky, soft, padded, but nowhere near flat. Somewhat astringent. Honestly one of the most impressive mouthfeels I've ever tasted.
O: A classic example of a quad. Not overly complex, but with plenty of depth. Standard-setting.
