Presentation: 12 oz. bottle, poured into trappist glass.
Appearance: Hazy, almost opaque brown. Pours with a beautiful, milk chocolate colored head. Lacing is superb.
Smell: Grainy malts with hints of chocolate and various spices. Alcohol is also pretty noticeable.
Taste: Rich, dark carmel malts. Some fruitiness combined with spice. Incredibly smooth and mouth-warming from the alcohol. Carbonation is nearly perfect. A lingering bitterness lies in the finish.
Overall: A world-class, dark Belgian ale. I could drink this all the time and never tire of it. Simply a magnificent beer for Belgian lovers.
