Enjoyed this one on Christmas... (review is from notes)
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip... a cloudy molasses reddish brown with a big almond head; exceptional retention of creamy foam that leaves a few patches of crystally lace.
S: Apricots, dark fruit, molasses, spices, sweet malts, and maybe some alcohol soaked pears.
T: Sweet bread, figs, candied fruit, light caramel... complex.
M: Medium-bodied and smooth; the yeast spice makes for a nice, crisp finish.
D: Very drinkable, letting it warm really let's the flavor evolve; a nice cold evening ale. Looking forward to trying the St. Bernardus Christmas Ale sometime!
