Pours a deep dark brown with a huge frothy tan head and lots of lacing all the way around the glass until the glass was empty.
Scent is of sweet malts dark fruits, but the alcohol is king here.
Taste is huge malt character, dark fruits, molasses and alcohol. I can only pick up the hops in the finish which is dry and quite bitter. The bitterness lasts for a while after each sip. The taste is almost wine-like; fruitier than I would expect, but very solid.
Mouthfeel is definately full bodied, and smooth with lots of carbination of the small bubble variety, very nice.
Drinkability is above average for this huge beer. I could sip (and I do mean sip slowly) all night long..
