11.2 oz bottle best before on 6-22-16.
A: a very hazy brown. super cloudy. a bustling bubbly head with good retention and lacing. not exactly the prettiest looking brew so far.
S: caramelized molasses. tobacco. plum jam. figs. a real meatiness to this aroma. a bit of gas is glaring with all the pleasant aromas. a bit too much gas for me.
T: a real sugary sweetness. maple syrup or molasses. similar to the nose, dark fruits. plums, figs, and purple grapes. an almost woodiness intermingled with the complexity of all the other flavors. oaky. slightly smokey. maybe a touch of vanilla.
M: a lively, but not overbearing carbonation on a full body.
D: not the first time i have had this gem, but the first time i have formally reviewed it. i have another 750mL that has been aging for about a year and i plan on waiting 4 more years to drink. will re-review then. as for this one, still very tasty fresh out of the bottle. great complexity on the palate. a very well-made quad.
