8oz on-tap pour into a snifter

a: pours a dark brown mahogany with some ruby undertones. one finger white head slowly dissipates with wonderful lacing

s: aroma of dark fruits, plums and raisins, some yeasts and Belgian spices, brown sugar, ripe figs.

t: similar to the aroma, with a sweet brown sugar creaminess, dark fruits, and Belgian funk. very smooth, very creamy. alcohol incredibly well hidden. low carbonation.

o: an amazing quadrupel, maybe would have been even better from a bottle, but very enjoyable and smooth.

Seriously, if my face had been over the bottle as I was removing the cage, I'da lost an eye!

Served in a snifter.

A: This one has a dark chewy center for sure. However, surrounding that is a ruby red-brown liquid that is partially a "see-through" experience, but the floating yeasties keep it from being 100% so.

S: Raisons, dates, and figs.... all wrapped up inside a world class Belgian yeast strain. This is all faint, yet effective. Gotta love it!

T: I always get an intense licorice bit on the front of this for some reason. However, after a while, that starts to subside and the dark fruit and fresh filtered water and Belgian funk really kick in!

M: This is one of the creamiest brews in the history of mankind, and the raison and fig notes keep getting better and better, mellower and mellower after every sip. The lacing is absolutely ridiculous to the 10th power!

O: This is probably my favorite Belgian that I can readily get off the shelf. Not much else to add other than that. Cheers!

Served on tap at the Brick Store Pub, Decatur, GA in a St Bernardus goblet

A- Very deep brown-amber with a thick and frothy brown head that leaves excellent lacing

S- Sweet dark malt, dried raisins and plums

T- Very fruity throughout, full flavored malts with a certain roundness of feel to them, finish is lightly bitter for balance and clean, very complex and deep flavors throughout

M- Light carbonation with a heavy body, quite smooth and goes down easy

O- Just an excellent beer in every aspect, loved it
